Teacher Has 8th-Graders Ask Parents to Renounce US Citizenship
The seditious brainwashing that passes for education in our public schools pushed the envelope over the brink on Tuesday, when 8th grade teacher Mike Brooks of Bidwell Junior High School in Chico, California sent a letter home with his students for their parents to sign. It declared that they were renouncing their American citizenship.
From the letter:
After careful consideration of the facts of our current situation, I have decided to announce to everyone that I am no longer a citizen of the United States, but a free and independent member of the global community.
Babbles Brooks:
I just wanted to start a discussion.
The letter was sent with no explanation or disclaimer. Some parents actually returned the letter signed. Others still have some respect for this country, like Michael Hill, who relays what his daughter Kaytlen reports having learned:
The lesson being taught in class was that the U.S. kidnaps innocent people and takes them to Cuba, where they are kept indefinitely and tortured.
Kaytlen broke into tears when recalling the tales Brooks had been telling of illegal wiretaps and other spying directed against the innocent. She said she would be in trouble if her father didn't sign the letter denouncing America.
Brooks will face no disciplinary action. Here's how Principal Joanne Parsley characterized his exercise in treason:
It was a well-intended lesson that didn't shake out too well.
According to Parsley, Brooks has no political agenda to advance.
Think very hard before turning your kids over to the cesspools liberals have made of our extravagantly expensive public schools.

8th Graders...so that puts them about the ripe old age of...14? Just the mature age to expect them to be able to detect the difference between propaganda and legitimate instruction!

My general observation is that liberals see the world as it ought to be while conservatives see the world as it is.
Perhaps he needs an introction to the world that 'is'. Perhaps he could obtain a global citizen passport then fly to Gitmo and rescue one of these innocent people. Bring them back to his house and have all kinds of discussions with his fellow global citizen.
* Needs to be a 'put drink down' warning on that line "According to Parsley, Brooks has no political agenda to advance."

ALLEGEDLY this was sparked by a lession about the American Declaration Of Independance, BUT read this excerpt:
>>I have decided to announce to everyone that I am no longer a citizen of the United States, but a free and independent member of the global community.
No mention about forming a seperate nation as was done by Jefferson, Franklin, et al.
A "member of the global community". In other words, a "stateless person": someone who feels no loyalty to any country, people, heritage, or culture.
How pathetic!

This is indicative of where much of the Left is headed: delegitimizing US sovereignty and the Constitution. They are jealous of their European brethren, who have the EU to smash national sovereignty and implement the Leftist agenda without the inconvenience of an elected legislature.

If Brooks is renouncing his citizenship, does this mean we get to deport him?

Exactly. And while doing so they invariable invoke the American Revolution or at least one of the Framers of the Constitution. They reminds me of Sgt. Haskil in Bernard Cornwall's Sharp series. The Sgt. was always quoting the bible in order to justify the lousy things he'd do - trouble was his quotes were all wrong, he didn't know anything about the bible, he was all sham and pretense and con artist.

I keep hearing the President Bush is plotting to create a "North American Union" like Europe did. Yet for decades, it was the LEFTIES AND COMMUNISTS who were demanding that all borders be abolished. Declareing yourself a "citizen of the world", is a demand for just that.

I wonder if Brooks' version of the Boston Tea Party is the defacing of the Vietnam War monument.
With "patriots" like MoveOn and the 911 Truth Project we dont need enemies.
