Socialized Medicine 101

Ward Churchill was only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to moonbattery at Colorado University. For a mere $3,100, students in the MBA and MS International Business programs can earn credit by traveling to Venezuela to watch Hugo Chavez choke the last gasps of freedom out of that country's healthcare system.

CU gushes of Chavez's tightening grip:

The Government of Venezuela has decided to give public health a very high priority, placing major emphasis on the training of large numbers of new doctors under a program entitled, "Barrio Adentro". This program is designed to bring medical services to every community, many for the first time. Venezuela's new Constitution approved by popular referendum and enacted in 2000 guarantees all citizens the right to health. To achieve this, it seeks to consolidate an effective primary health care network under a single ministry.

In other words, he's imposing HillaryCare — i.e., healthcare communism — which CU evidently expects business students to study and emulate.

The approach has worked well in Chavez's model, Cuba — if you listen to liberal propagandists. However, Cubans tell another story.

No doubt the Chavez regime will limit students to Potemkin hospitals, of the kind Cuba uses to spare European tourists the horror of what passes for healthcare for regular folks.

Via The Real Cuba, here are a few lessons in socialized medicine they probably don't teach at CU:

The black specks are flies. The photos were taken at the Hogar Provincial de Ancianos Marina Azcuy in Pinar del Rio province.

We'll enjoy the glories of "free" healthcare too, once moonbats succeed in brainwashing enough dupes into believing it could possibly work.

Hat tip: Slapstick Politics.
