Snakebite Blamed For Cross-Country Killing Spree
Posted by Dave Blount at September 18, 2007 8:08 AM
These days every criminal has an excuse, but at least this one's original: Paul Devoe III, accused of killing six people, was allegedly set off by a rattlesnake bite.
According to his uncle Ed Nelson, medication prescribed for the snakebite combined with alcohol to create a psychological condition that rendered Devoe incapable of refraining from homicide.
He killed five people in Texas, then set off for his native Long Island. Along the way, he killed a woman in Pennsylvania so he could steal her car. But it was the snake's fault.
Says Suffolk County, New York District Attorney Thomas Spota:
I think a jury will summarily dismiss that defense.
But as O.J. could tell him, that depends on the jury. Maybe Devoe could get John Edwards on the case, and sue the doctor who prescribed the snakebite medication.

Bill Clinton should claim that Shrillary bit him before he took payoffs from the Chicoms. |
On a tip from Wiggins.
