San Francisco vs. the Marines Blackout
A little follow-up on San Francisco's refusal to let the Marines film a commercial there:
American Thinker reports that other than Fox News, USA Today, and a local ABC station, the mainstream media has completely ignored the story.
Too bad, because it has some interesting hooks. The Marines were denied by Film Commission Executive Director Stefanie Coyote, who we learn has been a teamster and is married to barking moonbat Peter Coyote. When she got onto thin ice by firing Film Commission Deputy Director Michael Billington without cause, leftist screwball Sean Penn came running to offer her public support.
Odds of Ms. Coyote becoming the next Mayor of San Francisco would probably improve from the current 500 to 1 if the papers would give her dissing of the Marines a little publicity.
At least, by refusing to cover it, the liberals who run the media tacitly acknowledge that this story reveals something awful about them.

On a tip from Byron.

I wonder how many hours or days the chase scene from The Rock starring Sean Connery and Nicolas Cage disrupted traffic.
This is a 5 minute video of the scene

I notice, though, that the media that are covering have stopped quoting her as saying, "Not on MY bridge," which the first reports had contained.

Ms. Coyote + Marine/Navy Tag Team = Attitude adjustment. Aw, dang, the old days are gone. Choo-Choo on her and methinks she would change her mind.
The Old Dogs know what I mean, for the rest of you, think about it.
San FranScumbagville can pound sand.

The city supervisor of San Francisco (don't know his name and don't care to waste time looking it up) said on Hannity and Commie that America should not have a military at all....

In other military news, Ted Kennedy Calls American Military a Seething Hotbed of Hatred. But of course he supports the troops.

Actually, this story was reported on USA today's blog. After a series of interviews with the city officials and with the filming crew, USA Today had to change the title of the article to reflect the true story.
The Marines weren't due until Sept. 11, according to the Silent Drill Platoon's website.
"We were locked into that Tuesday," Block says, adding that he's sure the police could have handled the traffic problems caused by the production crew. But that's only part of the equation. Because the director didn't choose the locations until a few days before they were scheduled to film, Block says the company didn't have time to get the required approvals from local residents who would have been inconvenienced during the filming.
"We didn't leave there feeling the least bit singled out," Block says. His crew shot generic streetscapes on Sunday, and then moved to a federal park where they filmed the men on Tuesday with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background.
