Profiles in Countermoonbattery: John Monti

Here's some good news:

Minuteman John Matthew Monti of Bellflower, California has been found not guilty of various charges following a violent altercation that resulted when he tried to photograph some illegal aliens lurking under a freeway overpass.

Predictably siding with the bad guys, authorities brought up Monti on seven misdemeanor charges, including several civil rights violations. This alleged enemy of civil rights is a staunch opponent of the human trafficking and prostitution associated with our invasion by Mexico.

Naturally he was accused of racism.

Update:

See Save Our State for more on this case in John Monti's own words, including a list of strange happenings during the trial.

It's good to see that taking photos and getting attacked isn't a hate crime yet.

It won't be long until somebody tries to pass a law prohibiting white guys from taking pictures.

I'm all for arresting people(illegal or not) that attack others although I have a hard time feeling sorry for people who seek out trouble.

Was it really necessary that he stalk people(illegal or otherwise) under freeway overpasses?

As far as I'm concerned, anybody retarded enough to take on homeless people in situations like that deserve whatever beating those people can put on them.

I'm conservative as they come but it don't make sense to piss on an electified fence when it's well marked.

"Was it really necessary that he stalk people (illegal or otherwise) under freeway overpasses?" (per Conky)

Uh, Monti was trying to shame our Feds and other officials into demonstrating how ineffective they are at performing the job WE'RE paying them to do, i.e. tracking down illegals and booting them out. He wasn't "stalking". Stalking implies intent to do physical harm and he did nothing of the kind. What do you think journalists do to compile video and info on underground activity both here and abroad? Is it "stalking" when they thrust a camera into the dark spaces of this world? Hardly. He's a minuteman and from the state of Californication...meaning...he's fed up with the problem and employed a nonviolent method to bring it to light.

Hmmm... stalking huh?

Was he trespassing?

Then Conky has the nerve to advocate violence against a law abiding American activist for the enforcement of American law.

I'm all for increased legal immigration and even limited amnesty, but this is ridiculous. Will the supporters of illegal immigration give illegals all the rights of legal American citizens and the extra rights like the immunity from prosecution of violent crimes?

Freedom Now, I did not advocate violence against anyone.

And when did being a legal American citizen give anyone the right to "enforce American law" on anyone who lives under a freeway?

Vigilantes in any form, including "The Minutemen", should be discouraged in a modern and intelligent society.

He obviously went beyond simply taking pictures as the battery charges show. Unless, you think that American law enforcement officers(LEO'S) simply placed those battery charges on him because of their undying love for illegal immigrants, lol.

I have far more faith in legally appointed American LEO's than I do some misguided vigilante running around beating up Mexicans.

Conky,

Making excuses for such violence is not enlightened.

You said, “As far as I'm concerned, anybody retarded enough to take on homeless people in situations like that deserve whatever beating those people can put on them.”

I live in the neighborhood that this event took place in. The area that Monti went to is heavily populated by illegal aliens who camp out on public and private property. Their campsites can be identified by all the garbage and shacks that they leave on undeveloped land. There are hundreds and maybe thousands of immigrants living in our canyons in makeshift villages that are not monitored by law enforcement officials.

If Monti went to these areas intent to do violence he would have brought a weapon instead of a camera. He fought off multiple assailants by himself. The charges against him were rejected by the San Diego County District Attorney office, but the City Attorney chose to prosecute the case after Monti filed a grand jury complaint against the San Diego Police Department for failure to investigate human trafficking and child prostitution at the very site that Monti was attacked.

So what we have here are politically motivated charges.

The problem started when Monti was photographing the activities of the illegal immigrants and he was threatened by a large laborer with a 2 x 4. A police officer arrived on the scene and pointed out that it was legal for Monti to take pictures. The officer did not detain any of the illegal immigrants or even check to see if they had proof that they are here legally because moonbats have seen fit to prevent law enforcement officials from interfering in this type of illegal activity. When the police officer left Monti was then attacked from behind. His camera and cell phone were forcibly taken from him. Monti merely fought back to retake his property. He has a witness who saw Monti fighting off eight attackers and he also has photographic evidence.

So Monti attacked eight aggressive illegal immigrants with a camera and his cell phone? This type of politically motivated slander is inexcusable.

Anyways, the Minutemen do not carry out the punishment of criminals that break the law. They merely monitor the border and report any illegal activity that they witness to the authorities. If they are dangerous vigilantes then Neighborhood Watch are also dangerous vigilantes. They both operate on the same principle… Monitoring for illegal activity and reporting it to the proper authorities.

If you can argue that it is legal for foreign citizens to cross our borders without our country’s permission then I would be interested to hear how you could justify that. Otherwise, it is undeniable that these immigrants are committing criminal acts. It is not a hate crime to oppose criminal behavior. Political slander and outright fabrications such as the Monti case highlights the depths that the critics of those who support the rule of law will go.

These Mexicans wouldn't even come to this country if other Americans didn't hire them. Why doesn't your hero harrass these Americans? Short answer is that your hero is a coward.

And I don't believe Monti's story for a second... he should've left with the cops, period.

It's not his job to patrol under the freeway overpasses. Instead he stayed and made more trouble and attacked some people and now he is paying the price for being stupid.

Furthermore, even United States President George W. Bush, has expressed dislike for "vigilante" border projects.

If they are under a freeway overpass they have already breached the border anyway... the self-appointed border agents have failed. Besides the fact that it's not these self-appointed "border protectors" job to protect squat. They simply want to terrorize some people who are looking for work and that doesn't seem too American to me. Especially, as noted earlier, it's Americans providing jobs to these illegals that causes them to come here in the first place.

I'm not crazy about all the illegal drug deals going down in the city and I could try to take pictures of the dope dealers and generally harrass them too in hopes that the cops might take notice. It's a stupid thing to do and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if one of the drug dealers shot me for my heroic efforts. What Monti was attempting was no less stupid.

Your hero Monti is a criminal. I hope he enjoys jail.

It is rare that to have the opportunity to debate someone as misinformed as you are Conky.

The arrogant comment that you wrote in response to me ended with the following statement, “Your hero Monti is a criminal. I hope he enjoys jail.”

Monti has already been acquitted of all the charges!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Despite all the facts you persist in drawing conclusions from your politically motivated prejudices and completely divest yourself from the burden of relying on factual information. You speak with authority about a subject that you don’t have the slightest clue about. Perhaps you consider yourself enlightened, but maybe this will be a wake up call for you.
