Moonbattery May Lead to Food Shortages in Europe
Venezuela won't be the last place where moonbattery results in food shortages, nor will orangutans be the last victims of the absurd biofuels fad. EU Referendum reports that a combination of bureaucratic incompetence and wasting farmland on biofuel crops could soon lead to food shortages in the European Union:
Evidence is beginning to accumulate to suggest that, not only has the EU's management of grain stocks been deficient, but its proposed emergency measures to bring more grain onto the market and stabilise food prices is going to be completely ineffective.
More worrying still, the EU commission is showing every sign that it has not the faintest idea of what is going on. As a result, we are set to see spiralling increases in the price of basic food commodities and there is the very real prospect of shortages.
EU bureaucrats misjudged the grain supply so badly that they sold off grain stocks last year, expecting a bumper harvest that never came. In reaction to the crisis, they're removing compulsory set-aside requirements for the next planting season. But most of the set-aside land is already dedicated to non-food production, prominently including inefficient but politically correct biofuel.
Already there has been a "pasta strike" in Italy over durum wheat prices, Premier Foods (the leading UK bread supplier) is complaining of runaway costs, and the OECD is warning that subsidies for biofuels will lead to spiraling food prices (in addition to the destruction of natural habitat).
But EU bureauweenies have dug in, and show no sign of giving up on their 10% biofuels quota.
It isn't only because of Stalin that socialism is associated with starvation.

Price of milk has doubled the last year thanks to bio-fuel moonbattery. Priced corn on the cob in the grocery store lately?
These enviro-whackos are stealing money right out of our pockets with their ignorant, "we will be god" crap.

She sure don't look like no farmer.

Just as I tell the left-leaners (those who are not completely brainwashed yet) with which I come into contact every day, when you want to implement something, you have to consider ALL of the consequences. Essentially, you must think it through.
Biodiesel- Fuel from renewable resources. Pay farmers to grow it. Lower emissions. Reduce reliance on hostile governments. Sounds great.
Now, think it through completely:
Biodiesel- Fuel from renewable resources. Pay farmers to grow it. Farmers grow biodiesel-producing crops instead of food. Farmable/arable land is a finite resource. Food prices rise; from staples like bread and pasta to meat and vegetables, food becomes more expensive.
This is a common trait with most all of their arguments, such as not considering the cost, energy required, or by-products of producing solar panels or lithium-ion batteries.
Be mindful of the future, but not at the expense of the present. Paraphrased from Star Wars: Episode I

don't forget the increased energy required to convert the grown crops into biodiesel in the form of electricity and and waste.
you go out to the farm and pick some corn , cook it or leave it raw, eat it and you can throw the cobb into a shreader and compost it you poop out the rest.
Now you turn it into fuel instead you've got to mash it up, taking electricity or manual labor.
it has to be strained and cooked.
next you still have to mix it with lye, kerosene (paraffin) or petroleum diesel fuel, or blend it with a solvent, or with gasoline.
After all that crap basically you watered down the drinks at the bar, you have to deal with the decreased MPG due to the lower energy output.
the whole thing is freaking stupid if you think about it. since your making this fuel for a production vehicle.
Now the original intent was for a farm vehicles which Way back in time there was no such thing as emissions, you try to run your tractor off homemade diesel and run it through a emissions test and your liberalism is going to get an eye opener. the sulfur content alone will make you gag.
Now imagine every idiot on earth running biodiesel or worse regular homemade diesel and its going to make pollution in the sky over russia look like a cake walk.
the fact is regular gas is the best thing going right now.
Liberals insanely thing energy can be made and removed from thin air. they figure everyone is on diesel so we saved the world without thinking ahead to the massive food shortages, the massive load on the already overloaded electrical system in this country and for the increased Coal output its going to need to stay ahead.
the current system works because our energy needs are diversified. we get energy from different fuels and your not sticking your eggs in one basket.
as far as building more fuel efficant cars in a way your shooting yourself in the foot. Now you can safely add an additional say 40 million cars to the road because your fuel storage needs last longer. so now you have an additional 40 million cars sitting in traffic each blowing off more dangerous C02 LOL.
idiots like this never think ahead or see the whole picture.
Personally i would love to drive a electric car for my local commutes since i put like 200miles on a car per week to would make sense for me, additionally the acceleration and instant torque of an electric would be awesome, and i can still drive my old 71 440 big block on the weekends :D

On the whole bio-fuels/ethanol scam, an adjunct of the AGW hoax, as a perspicacious caller into the Rush Limbaugh show once said: "Would you rather import fuel [since the envirowackos won't let us get at our own plentiful supplies], or food?"
Think: "China," "pet food" and "toys," and then give me your answer.

can we make sure only liberals eat those foods :D i'm for it.

Another major problem with Bio-Diesel and all other alternative energy sources is that they ALWAYS must be subsidized, because oil is still far more economical.
