Miracle Theater Rebukes Tinseltown Blasphemy

The treasonous kooks at MoveOn.org aren't the only ones who can take out an ad in the paper. You might recall how actress Kathy Griffin recently accepted an Emmy by holding up the trophy and shouting:

A lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this. He had nothing to do with this. … Suck it, Jesus! This award is my god now.

In response to this all too characteristic blasphemy, members of the Miracle Theater in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee shelled out $100,000 for an ad in USA Today with this message:

"Enough is Enough!" The name of Jesus Christ should not be mocked, nor should those who love Him be slandered for their beliefs. It is time for people of faith around the country to stand firm against religious slander, bias, and bigotry of all types including Christianity!

They took out a second ad, announcing a petition asking for some modicum of respect from the entertainment industry.

The petition is less encouraging than the Miracle Theater itself. Sooner or later, demand for an alternative to the sewage gushing out of Hollyweird will create a supply. Its seeds might already be growing.

Ditto, nanc. I'm not a very good Christian, but we have to stand up for what's right in these dark times. Christians have been pushed around for too long and it's time to remind everyone that we have rights, too!

You know things that these self absorbed idiots spew doesn't bother me all that much... I find momentary comfort knowing Jesus will have the last word on the matter.

When Griffin's roasting in Hell, do you think she'll call on her Emmy idol for help?

P.S. I just signed the petition, too.

If you're doing the "Christian" life right, then you will be persecuted, (sheep among wolves, Matt 10:16). Frankly, it's better to be a "dangerous" Christian vs. a "good" one, i.e. telling the truth and taking the slaps like a man. Evenso, there's no reason to not fight for your rights. As citizens we have that right. Even St. Paul used this tactic when he reminded his persecutors that he was a Roman citizen and by law could not be condemned without trial (Acts 22:25).
