La Raza Tries to Dictate Local Politics in Kansas City
The radical Left wants control over pretty much everything — right down to Kansas City's park board, which has incurred the wrath of the National Council of La Raza (The Race) by including 73-year-old grandmother Frances Semler. Mrs. Semler is a member of the noble volunteer group the Minutemen, which by monitoring the border and reporting incursions to the authorities hopes to encourage our useless government to get off its flabby behind and save this country.

A member of such a group, no matter how upstanding in other ways, should have no place representing Kansas City.
To punish KC, La Raza has threatened to hold its four-day 2009 convention somewhere else. This is expected to generate $5.5 million in local revenue. The equally anti-Caucasian NAACP is piling on, threatening to cancel a week-long convention in 2010, supposedly worth $9 million.
Both groups apparently feel they will benefit from the radical demographic shifts resulting from our colonization by Mexico. Actually, the NAACP won't benefit at all. But it's not going to pass up any chances to stick it to the white man.
Major kudos to Mayor Mark Funkhouser, who turned down Semler's offer to resign. If more politicians had spines, our country would still have a future.

This whole thing is mind numbingly stupid. If I were the mayor of Kansas City I would issue a press release that calls both La Raza and the NAACP racist (they truly are after all) and they are FORBIDDEN to have their conferences there. Of course we all know what will happen as both groups book double the facilities and hotel rooms to prove they have a right to go there.
A little reverse psychology.

Is that before or after the cost of vandalism, theft and riots?

By them, this is punishment? It is also a sad comment on the state of our borders when the minutemen have to have an auxillary in Kansas City, Missouri. The place is about as far away from any border as you can get in the lower 48.

Have been to KC for a conference. That city gets plenty of bookings. Multiple traumas and arresting people for urinating in the streets while not shooting each other over crack? Well, methinks KC can do without all that. Just increased my donation to the Minutemen thanks to NAACP and La Raza shooting off their big racist mouths.

National Council of La Raza hides their race-based ideology by combining English words with Spanish words. "National Council" plus "La Raza". Though Vin nails it by just calling them their preferred name: La Raza.
