Iranian Missile Attack Plans Confirmed

Bad news — Jimmy Carter has this to bleat:

Iran is quite distant from Israel. I think it would be almost inconceivable that Iran would commit suicide by launching one or two missiles of any kind against the nation of Israel.

Given that Carter has never said anything in public that wasn't completely wrong, this makes an Iranian attack appear inevitable.

As for Iran being "quite distant" from Israel, Iran's deputy air force commander confirmed Wednesday that Israel is within range of Iran's medium-range missiles and bombers, which he threatened to use.

Carter then launched into his standard talking points on how the real problem is that President Bush hasn't given Palestinian terrorists whatever it takes to make them happy.

It looks like they are about 600 miles apart - about the distance from Cincinnati to Philadelphia.

I'll add this to the list of "you might be a moonbat" jokes:

You might be a moonbat if: You value Jimmy Carter's opinion.

Why can't this asshat just die already? He was of little use as POTUS and he's worth stepped on dog shit now.

In World War One, we Americans learned that our "moats" (The Atlantic and Pacific oceans) could not protect us from attacks by submarines. This truth was driven home hard when the Japanese used subs to shell our shores and launch two attacks by airplane. The Japanese also hit us as well as Canada and Mexico with free balloons made of paper!
I think that our enemies are a LITTLE more advanced now.

PS: Let's not forget that Mexicans raided farms and ranches many times durring their 1910-1920 revolution. But then, we defended land, both civilian, police and military, men and women.
God, if we were only so self-reliant today! (Yes, I'm including myself as one of the lack-luster patriots)

Methinks the USAF, USN, USMC and IAF might figure into this?

Villifying Jimmy Carter again. Seems to be the
favorite of some conservative blogs these days.
Is he wrong to state that Israel will never have peace as long as it holds the occupied territories? The standard response has and always will be that Israel has never had peace and never will. So what does it matter what it does?
Is he wrong to state that the continued source of Anti-Americanism/Anti-Semitism around the world
is continued occupation of occupied territories? And thus a continued source of inspired terrorism around the world against the US.
And yes, many people around the world do not make the distinction of between anti-Americanisn
and anti-Semitism. They view the US as being lead by those who advocate support for Israel no matter the cost.
Hence, the reason the war will never succeed in
Iraq -- many Arabs, Sunni and Shiite, see this as an extension of the Israeli-Palestine conflict. Much the viewpoint echoed by Zbigniew Brezinski,
Jimmy Carter's Secretary of State, at the start of the Iraq conflict.
PS -- I am not anti-Semitic.

Zahyan, thanks for the comment...made me laugh and it's so true.

As to RC's comments. Israel is surrounded by Muslims so OF COURSE, there will never be a peace. Even if Israel gives up territory it means nothing. Muslims won't be satisfied until they own everything lock, stock and barrel. Even then, they wouldn't stop at Israel's borders. It pays to understand Muslim mentality and we believe most of us now do. And no one with a history background believes that the Muslim populace is "native" to Israel. They were invaders just as they were in Iran and Iraq. Just ask the Kurds (who incidentally are getting bombed even now by the Iranians). I'm no fan of the Jewish state, nor have I fallen for the "chosen people" propaganda, but I do think they have a right there as much as their Muslim invaders. Peace at all costs is no peace. That would be called slavery.

When Israel gave up its southern Lebanese enclave that was seized from PLO terrorists that bombed Israeli civilians, did Hezbollah cease military operations? Despite the fact that it fully represented a complete withdrawal from UN and internationally recognized Lebanon? No!

When Israel withdrew from the Gaza Strip did Hamas stop its missile attacks against Israeli civilians? No!

Land for Peace as a cure-all against war is a myth. It failed with Hitler and it fails with Islamic militants.

Unless apologist activism and direct support for terrorism dries up, only the destruction of Israel and the massacre of its inhabitants will bring peace.
