Identifying with America Makes Katie Couric "Uncomfortable"

There are certainly good reasons for CBS News' continued tailspin with Katie Couric in the anchor chair. Here she is at the National Press Club yesterday, letting slip her dislike of America:

The whole culture of wearing flags on our lapel and saying "we" when referring to the United States and, even the "shock and awe" of the initial stages, it was just too jubilant and just a little uncomfortable.

Yes, being asked to identify with your own country in time of war will make many an American liberal uncomfortable — but mainstream media folks aren't supposed to admit this in public.

Katie tears up on realizing that technically, she's an American.

On a tip from V the K.

I seem to remember after Katies big debut, CBS executives were publicly licking their chops and braging about how they were going to kick the other networks asses in the ratings. How's that working out there CBS? This is sooo funny...what does CBS do now? Trapped by their own liberalism. Sued for 70-Mill by their former anchor now they can't replace the girl...that would be SEXISM! They are stuck with her. The glass ceiling has become a glass floor.

In other moonbattery news, in lieu of using some common sense in enforcing the law, the British police ensure that all sides of a crime are thoroughly investigated.

yikes.... she is way freaking old!

Time for Katie's "involuntary" retirement, a la Dan Blather? Expect another one of those $70 mil lawsuits, however, SeeBS.

metalgarth: Yep, Katie's "perky" and "cutie-pie" days are, unfortunately for her, over.

Trapped by her own elitism. The humane thing is to send her to that farm in Kentucky for old race...

Frankly, it makes me uncomfortable to have katie identified as an American too; sure wish these people would leave the country they despise so ...

Cheerleaders should not be reading the news. Period.

billfry : SO TRUE!!!

"yikes.... she is way freaking old!"

Feminism does that to women.

They're called "aging spinsters" a term to describe women brainwashed by feminism who've chosen to live their life attempting to be men and always end up unmarried, living alone with their cats.

Feminism has done more to free men and enslave women.

American Women are idiots for embracing the lie known as Feminism.

Hey Katie.
No one is making you wear an American flag pin.
But if it makes you feel so icky, then don't. But don't go telling us you hate it, OK?!
And if you hate this country so much, then at least have the courage of your convictions to leave. And then maybe you can go live in Canada, or Europe, or Mexico . . . where no one will be watching your telecasts either!
