Heroic Dan Is Saving Democracy With Greedy Lawsuit
You might think that Dan Rather's $70 million lawsuit against his old CBS employers is inspired by a combination of runaway greed and his wounded ego. Actually, it's all about saving democracy from evil corporations and the Bushitler regime. Here's what the Dan has been gibbering on Larry King:
Somebody, sometime has got to take a stand and say democracy cannot survive, much less thrive with the level of big corporate and big government interference and intimidation in news.
According to a rather self-serving conspiracy theory, the clearly phony "Rathergate" documents with which the Dan tried to trash W's reputation right before the 2004 election were actually real, but that's been covered up by a secret alliance between CBS News and the White House.
Displaying a remarkable knack for irony, Blather dismissed an investigation into his use of fraudulent documents as "a fraud."
