Giuliani: Illegals Aren't Illegal
Uh oh. Rudy Giuliani may not be quite so strong on security as he sometimes seems. From an interview with Glenn Beck:
GLENN: But isn't illegal immigration a crime in and of itself?
GIULIANI: No. […] I know that's very hard for people to understand, but it's not a federal crime.
GLENN: It's a misdemeanor but if you've been nailed, it is a crime. If you've been nailed, ship back and come back, it is a crime.
GIULIANI: Glenn, being an illegal immigrant, the 400,000 [illegals in NYC] were not prosecuted for crimes by the federal government, nor could they be. […] One of the things that congress wanted to do a year ago is to make it a crime, which indicates that it isn't.
GLENN: Should it be?
GIULIANI: Should it be? No, it shouldn't be because the government wouldn't be able to prosecute it. We couldn't prosecute 12 million people.
His solution? A "technological fence" that would signal the Border Patrol to come and politely ask the invaders to go away before they enter. But even a real fence wouldn't be sufficient if illegals know all they have to do is make it to US soil and they're home free because we don't have the will to enforce our laws.
Is there a security issue more critical than our government's craven refusal to defend America from invasion? If not, Rudy had better rethink his position or stop presenting himself as strong on security.

Is it a federal crime to enter the country without going through customs and immigration? Is there an immigration lawyer in the house?

How anyone can think Giuliani is a Republican is beyond me.
He was NYC's mayor for heaven's sake. That's comparable to hell's citizens having elected the anti-christ to run it. Does any true Republican really want this pleasant bastard to get the nomination?
And then tv's Glenn Beck, (only slightly less reality challenged than a leftard) who has the loud-mouthed temerity to suggest that Tancredo and Huckabee shove off and leave the race to "those who can realistically win". I realize that a conservative's chances of sitting in the oval office are next to none considering the socialist direction we've adopted, but do we want a Republican only in name and not in substance? I sure as hell don't. I want all or nothing at this point. No fence-sitting and no prisoners allowed. Too late in the day to compromise any longer. Beck never mentioned that Rudy should leave...Rudy...who is every bit a socialist as his leftard NYC constituency. Nevermind the fact that Tancredo and Huckabee are true Republicans who unlike Bush can construct a complete sentence without screwing it up. Even McCain is a better choice than Giuliani and I can hardly write that without hurling dinner chunks.
If Giuliani gets the nomination, it won't matter who "wins" the white house next year. He's already owned lock, stock and barrel by the dim-o-crats.
