Even Greenpeace Cofounder Pans DiCaprio Flop

Tinseltown twit Leonardo DiCaprio's attempt to emulate his idol the Goracle can't even get a good word from the cofounder of Greenpeace.
DiCrappio narrated and cowrote The 11th Hour, which makes the case that human civilization is a bad idea, because people keep cutting down trees, thus causing cuddly animals to die of global warming.
But Greenpeace cofounder Patrick Moore points out that the carbon absorbed by trees is released back into the atmosphere if they're left to die and decompose:
Rather than cutting fewer trees and using less wood, DiCaprio and [longtime activist Tzeporah] Berman [who is featured in the movie] ought to promote the growth of more trees and the use of more wood. There is a misconception that cutting down an old tree will result in a net release of carbon. … Berman, a veteran of the forestry protest movement, should by now have learned that young forests outperform old growth in carbon sequestration.
If CO2 in the air really were a problem, it would make the most sense to cut down trees so that we can make houses out of them, then plant new trees — which is what our forestry industry is for.
You could hardly expect a twinkie like Leoretardo to know anything about science, but he might have picked a slightly less ignorant authority than Berman. But then the Goracle got away with relying on guys like NASA's sneaky James Hansen, a media whore who has been getting rich off the global warming hoax.
So far DiCaprio's movie has grossed $171,000 — probably about what he spends on manicures each year.

On a tip from Wiggins.
