Corzine Defies Federal Government to Advance Socialized Medicine
Speed limits and seatbelt laws aren't the only rules ignored by New Jersey's arrogant Democrat Governor Jon Corzine. He's declared that he will not obey federal rules that limit the expansion of government-subsidized healthcare to people who don't need it.
The program in question is State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), which liberals are using to slip socialized medicine in through the back door for the sake of the children — the children in question coming from families perfectly capable of buying their own insurance.
The strategy is the same used by drug dealers who give free samples to school kids. Liberals know that once people get hooked on receiving something "for free," they will come to see it as an entitlement. They are gambling that most of us are too stupid to understand that "free" healthcare is not only inadequate but extravagantly expensive.
In an attempt to prevent the cost of "free" healthcare from spiraling hopelessly out of control, rules were put in place to prevent families that earn more than two and a half times the poverty rate from exploiting SCHIP, which is supposedly intended to help those who can't help themselves. Corzine dismisses the rules as "onerous," so he's come up with his own rules. These advance socialism by handing out federal money to families making as much as 350% of the poverty rate.
Look for more Corzine types to emerge in the future. As moonbattery sucks our society down into decay, it's inevitable that the rule of law will deteriorate.

On a tip from Wiggins.

Which, in no small measure, accounts for the number of people fleeing this state, lest they be taxed to death.
