Barry Manilow Declares War on Elizabeth Hasselbeck

Exhibiting the open-minded tolerance in which liberals take so much pride, schmaltzy 70s pop star Barry Manilow has canceled an appearance on Rosie O'Donnell's old soapbox The View, on the grounds that he refuses to be interviewed by conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

The King of Queaze denounces the ditsy but decent Hasselbeck as "dangerous" and "offensive," apparently because she is not a fan of abortion and doesn't advocate surrendering to al-Qaeda and Iranian-backed terrorists in Iraq.

Indicating how well Ron Paul fits in the Republican Party, Manilow has given the maximum allowed $2,300 to five presidential candidates this year: Shrillary Rotten, Osama Obama, Slow Joe Biden, the Breck Girl, and Paul. He's also been a big supporter of strident left-wing nut job Babs Boxer in the Senate.

Although Manilow was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, many of the cheesy tunes with which he induced mass nausea throughout the 70s were written by other people, ironically including "I Write the Songs."

Manilow has appeared on The View twice before with Hasselbeck present. The appearance that he just canceled for next Tuesday was booked back in July. Maybe he's afraid that the aging remnants of his fan base will react to his even being in the same room as a conservative the way liberal Seattle fans reacted to Hasselbeck's brother-in-law Matt giving a Seahawks jersey to President Bush.

Somebody else writes the songs. Manilow writes the checks — to moonbats.

On a tip from Wiggins.

How does a pathetic nobody has-been achieve relevance in the entertainment community? Just say something that affirms your obeisance to moonbat dogma, and you're cool again. Except, can Barry Manilow ever be cool?

WTF is 'the view'?

The left is tolerant as long as you agree with their world view.

As for Manilow, his relevance is the same as that of poor Lola at the Copacabana, "still in the dress she used to wear, faded feathers in her hair..." And that plastic surgery job is scarier than Wayne Newton's.

What a brave, tolerant liberal Barry is. Sitting at a table with three other bedwetters isn't enough for him. He has to have the deck COMPLETELY stacked in his favor. Afterall, a big star like Barry (yeah right) shouldn't have to actually defend his statements or prove his claims. The public should just swallow the stuff wholesale from a guy who started out backing up fellow Moonbat Bette Midler in the gay bathhouses of NYC.

VH, you said: "Maybe he's afraid that the aging remnants of his fan base will react to his even being in the same room as a conservative the way liberal Seattle fans reacted to Hasselbeck's brother-in-law Matt giving a Seahawks jersey to President Bush."

And that's it in a nutshell (pardon the pun). These allegedly "brave" and "tolerant" Liberals are all terrified of the reaction of their "base" should they say one word out of line. It's the same with the Dhimmicrats and their lovely friends, like moveon.org and the other Soros-funded kooks -- as you well noted with the Dim who returned from Iraq with good words about the success of the Surge, and as we've just seen with John F'in Kerry and one of his supposed admirers at the Univ. of Florida.

These people are scared to death of having to be truthful with their "supporters" (again, pardon the semi-pun, as none of the male Dhimmicrats have much of a package there to "support"). Wait til they're trying to appease their soon-to-be masters, the Islamofascists, their new, bestest buddies -- they'll say ANYTHING to keep their heads attached to their necks (and even that may not be enough)!

The recent Halloween remake was pretty scary, but just imagine how terrifying it would have been if Michael Meyers wore a BARRY MANILOW mask!

That photo needs a BARF ALERT!

Agree that Manilow should not be afraid to defend his position, especially on a show that is about differing opinions. However, furballz, was your comment about the hearing aid supposed to be funny? Because you just look like an idiot. It is a music monitor, like headphones in a recording studio.

How can someone as old as dirt be more immature than a child?

What a horrible example he sets.

Grow up Barry!
