Bad Moonbat Rising: David Shuster

The combination of the deterioration of mainstream journalism, desperation for ratings, and the off-the-cliff leftward movement of NBC as a whole is turning MSNBC into a breeding ground for barking moonbats. As if the oafish Chris Matthews and schizophrenic talking cockroach Keith Olbermann weren't two too many, there are more, including David Shuster, who substituted for Tucker Carlson yesterday.

Regarding the moronic and obscene four-word Rocky Mountain Collegian editorial insulting the President, Shuster opines:

I think it's great.

However, he regretted that left-wing students who hate the President are only publishing profane editorials, instead of marching in the streets like in the good old days (i.e., when they were helping Walter Cronkite cause our defeat in Vietnam).

Then on came Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) to talk about the disgraceful MoveOn.org/New York Times ad smearing General Petraeus. Shuster was waiting in ambush. Apropos of nothing, he struck with this:

What was the name of the last soldier from your district who was killed in Iraq?

Blackburn admitted she didn't happen to know.

Shuster persisted:

How come you didn't know the name?

Blackburn described some of the ways she and her staff help veterans and started to express appreciation for their sacrifice, but was interrupted by Shuster snarling:

Well, you weren't appreciative enough to know the name of this young man, he was 18 years old who was killed, yet you can say chapter and verse what goes on with the New York Times and MoveOn.org.

He kept going with it too, relentless as a pit bull with its jaws locked on your neck. This is what passes for journalism at MSNBC.

Hey, dolt! Turns out the young man killed in Iraq was not even from the Congresswoman's district. So, not only was your question impertinent and obnoxious, it was falsely premised (not at all unusual for the drive-by media, of course).

By the way, do YOU know anything whatsoever about the last brave soldier or Marine killed in Iraq or Afghanistan that came from your locality? No, I didn't think so . . .

Reckon you're about to lose one of the two remaining viewers of your worthless television network -- hopefully, that'll bankrupt you right out of existence.

David Shuster's vicious verbal assault on Congressman Marsha Blackburn recently showed him to be a bully and someone who uses his news anchor position to intimidate and deamean his guests. Unfortunately, this seem to be a trend in cable news shows now.

Journalism in TV is dead as there is now a game of one-upmanship going on amongst the news readers as they vie to see who can be the most repugnant while news takes a back seat.

As viewers leave in droves, the thinking in the ivory towers of the media is that the viewers can be brought back by turning their newscasts into a version of the Jerry Springer Show.

For example, Dan Abrams of MSNBC has turned his network into a TV edition of The National Enquirer as the network concentrates on the sleazy side of America.

But, the good news is – it ain’t gonna work as viewers, readers, advertisers, and Wall Street are saying sayonara at a precipitate rate!

So, let them be disgusting, nauseating, revolting, and vile, for within the next five years they will all cease to exist.
