9th Circus Nixes Saint Pancake Suit
Posted by Dave Blount at September 17, 2007 8:19 PM
What is the world coming to when greedy moonbats with a lawsuit can't even count on the 9th Circus anymore?
In a rare win for sanity, the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals refused to reinstate a suit brought by the parents of Rachel Corrie, aka Saint Pancake, against Caterpillar Inc. for manufacturing the bulldozer Corrie was enough of an idiot to get herself killed by standing in front of.
For once the court acknowledged the limits on its authority. Wrote Judge Kim McLane Wardlaw:
A court could not find in favor of the plaintiffs without implicitly questioning, and even condemning, United States foreign policy toward Israel. It is not the role of the courts to indirectly indict Israel for violating international law with military equipment the United States government provided and continues to provide.
As you might recall, Corrie stood in front of the bulldozer, whose driver had no way to see her, as part of a campaign on behalf of Palestinian terrorists. According to the suit, Caterpillar is civilly liable for aiding and abetting the alleged human rights violation of bulldozers being used to destroy buildings used by terrorists. However, not even the 9th Circus would go along with this.
But I'm sure Saint Pancake's admirers in the arts community will stay true to her cause. Maybe her fan club can ease the pain of this legal setback with another pancake breakfast.
