Top British Doctor Questions Treatment For "Greedy" Fat People
Bad news for Michael Moore, overweight advocate of socialized medicine: Hamish Meldrum, the head of the British Medical Association, questions whether the obese should be given treatment for their problem.
As anyone unfortunate enough to have required medical care in Britain is painfully aware, the country has succumbed to socialized medicine, placing bureaucrats in charge of who gets treated and when.
Asserts Dr. Meldrum:
We are saying, "This patient has a hyper-appetite problem" rather than, "They are just greedy." People like to put fancy labels that suggest things are a medical problem. But [obesity] is not just a problem for GPs, it is societal. We are in danger of over-medicalizing.
He has a point. But if Moore is getting treatment for his weight problem, he ought to be thankful he lives in a country where a free market provides whatever medical care people are willing to pay for.

Isn't the treatment for a weight problem "Eat less and exercise more"? What makes you think that you can't buy whatever "weight treatment" you want in the UK with your own money? No one says that everything (for example liposuction) has to be covered by health insurance. You guys have no clue about single payer health care. It wouldn't hurt if you creationist dumbasses left your Alabama backwaters and did some traveling and learning before you opened your traps.

It was the Liberals and their lawyers who decided that "obesity" is a "disease". They did this in order to sue people. Therefore, being FAT should be covered by UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE.

No they did not. The lawyers you refer to claim that McDonalds is misleading customers regarding the healthiness of their food.
...Therefore, being FAT should be covered by UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE...
How does that follow from the McDonalds lawsuit???
And what do you care what is in or out of universal healthcare? It doesn't even exist, and you want to argue about nonsense hypotheticals? This has nothing to do with the article or my posting.
The article above claims that Moore should be glad he lives in the US, because here he can get treatment for obesity, but not in the UK. That is blatant nonsense. Prove me wrong.

Moore should be glad that he lives in the United States where he can be a fat, obnoxious pig who hates his home country without repercussions.
Proove ME wrong.
