Rupert Murdoch Climbs Aboard the Global Warming Bandwagon
Liberals might want to rethink their festering hatred of News Corp.'s Rupert Murdoch, whose willingness to indulge global warming moonbattery goes well beyond the climate change pandering infecting 24.
His British BSkyB satellite TV customers get free energy-efficient light bulbs and low-flow showerheads with their set-top boxes. Fox-owned TV stations in the US are encouraged to join the FOX-e energy team, which aims to save the planet by turning off unused lights and appliances.
Murdoch has declared that News Corp. will be "carbon neutral" by 2010. This entails the usual symbolic "energy efficiency measures," as well as participating in carbon offset swindles. Hey, it's his money.
Much more disturbing than this PR silliness is the threat of his using the various media at his disposal to brainwash the public with dangerous global warming propaganda. Ominously, Murdoch proclaims:
Our audience's carbon footprint is 10,000 times bigger than ours. That's the carbon footprint we want to conquer.
The more dupes are convinced to buy into the global warming hoax, the more likely it is that leftist demagogues will use it to impose backdoor socialism and to cripple our economy with ruinous taxes and excessive regulations.
Murdoch has also been shoveling money at disreputable characters like Hillary Clinton and even John Edwards. But he still pays Bill O'Reilly's paycheck, so libs continue to hate his guts.

ManBearPig: Yeah, it really is a religion, Part LXXII.
The September 2007 issue of Marie Claire features a sidebar in their "McBulletin" section entitled "Highway to Heaven."
"Consult our quick guide to fuel-efficient cars, then cruise through the tollbooth at the pearly green gates," the tag line explained, nestled between a scale of "good" and "evil" signs.
According to the piece, if you drive a Toyota Prius Hybrid or a Honda Civic Hybrid, you are pious and your reward is "Dinner in heaven with Leonardo DiCaprio."
And to those who dare to drive a Hummer, Ford Explorer or Cadillac Escalade, Marie Claire said: "We'll see you in carbon-emissions hell."

"We are going to provide a better world for our children and grandchildren" (generic paraphrase)
If human activity is destroying the planet, what is the worst thing you can do for the earth?
A: HAVE CHILDREN!
Sooo, can you use Carbon Credits to pay for an abortion?

Murdoch follows the money. He saw that the market for non-liberal dreck media was wide open, so he founded Fox News. Now he sees the market for moonbattery is up, and is positioning himself to cash in on that.

You do talk a load of old bollocks on this site, don't you? Do make a bit of an effort to follow the science, instead of listening to the minority denial wonks. Maybe you should have stayed awake in your physics class instead of sleeping off the previous night's hangover?
Basically global warming is either true or not true. 98% of climate scientists are agreed its true. Even if you are sure that they are all wrong and you know better than them, you must surely concede that there just might be a 2% chance that they just might be right. And a 2% chance of mankind not surviving the next 200 years is just a bit sobering, isn't it?
Just because you don't want something to be true doesn't make it not true. And just because somebody you don't like espouses the cause for what you believe are the wrong reasons doesn't mean it was the wrong thing for him to have done.
Less of the knee-jerk, people. More of the wakeful coffee-smelling.
