Preventing Child Sexual Abuse Among Aborigines Called Genocide

From the point of view of moonbats, any imposition of Western norms on a non-Western culture is bad. Fortunately, Australia is not currently run by moonbats.

As Indigenous Affairs Minister Mal Brough has had the courage to observe, Australia's Aboriginal communities represent

a failed society where law and order and behavior have broken down and where women and children are unsafe.

Child sex abuse is epidemic among Aborigines. In an attempt to apply a little bit of civilization to the problem, plans call for the national government to take partial control in the Northern Territory. Alcohol and hard-core pornography would be banned, and Aborigines would be forced to spend part of their welfare checks on essentials like food.

Aboriginal activist John Ah Kit predictably went through the roof:

This is about the beginning of the end of Aboriginal culture; it is in some ways genocide.

With his moonbat hyperbole dialed down a notch, Kit also opined that as a result of restrictions on child rape, hard-core porn, alcoholism, and dissoluteness, Aboriginal culture is "being smashed to smithereens."

For the sake of the Aborigines themselves, I wish he were right.

Imposition of basic civilized norms constitutes "genocide."

Typical moonbat hyperbole. Moral equivalence run amok. If everything is genocide, then of course the real genocide becomes obscure. And we know who is responsible for those.

Will this set precedence? As it is, telling a 7th century mooslim it's wrong to have sex with or mutilate the genitals of a 12-year old girl is a hate crime. Will it soon be classified genocide?

A shoe box full of pebbles has more common sense than every liberal on earth combined.

Following that logic, St. Patrick was equivalent to Pol Phot

" it is in some ways genocide."

I fail to see how it can be considered genocide, since genocide pretty much always involves trying to kill off every member of a particular race or culture. Sounds like the Aussie government isn't trying to do that, they're just trying to cut down on some of the perversions and vices that have taken over the Aborigines' communities. I salute them for that.

Words mean what moonbats WANT them to mean, Adam.
