Post-Gazette Spits Venom at Critics of Profane Flight 93 Memorial

It looks like we'll have to give up our objections to the profane United Flight 93 memorial, which is less a monument to those killed resisting Muslim terrorists on 9/11 than an open-air mosque, designed as an Islamic crescent oriented toward Mecca. You see, the high priests of opinion have spoken from atop Mount Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:

Sometimes America's bubbling cauldron of resentments emits a poison that threatens to pollute good sense and the best of intentions. That such madness still haunts the planned Flight 93 Memorial in Somerset County is an unconscionable affront to the living and the dead.

As mentioned earlier, the father of one of the heroes of United Flight 93 does not want his son's name on this abomination. Too bad, snarls the lefty Post-Gazette:

The $57 million project is on track to open in 2011 — and so it should, without a further thought to anyone who would turn it into a point of sour conjecture. No names should be removed — they belong now to the ages.

Sorry, Mr. Burnett: your son Tom's name belongs to the ages — and the current custodians of the ages are moonbats.

An Islamic mihrab, apparent inspiration for the memorial design.

The willful blindness of these people astounds me. How can they possibly think that a memorial to the victims of islamic terror should be shaped to resemble an islamic symbole? And how in the hell can dare to be they be so arrogant about the names?

Something to ask a muslim next time you see one.

What used to sit in the niches around the top of the kabbaa? And what used to sit in the niches in this picture?

For comparison's sake, there are several roman-era buildings in the city of Rome that were converted for use as churches. The statues that sat in their niches were removed, but they weren't destroyed and can be found all over the city even today. Where are the statues that used to sit in the kabbaa?

It looks like a baseball diamond.

I don't recognize the fake god 'allah' so a mosque is just another building, and muslim idolatry goes mostly unrecognized by me.

If this is truly a conspiracy to honor the muslim murderers then the instigators will one day answer to the one true God. Meanwhile, the common visitor to the memorial will never recognize or acknowledge it as anything but an arch-shaped park.

When driving down a long strait highway, most people see a long line of telephone poles. A Christian may see a long line of crosses.

It's all in the interpretation.

How long before objecting to this sort of thing will be labeled as a mental illness? A woman in Paris was referred to psychiatric treatment for complaining about crime and graffiti in her neighborhood. Given the neo-Stalinist turns of the Democrat left, I wouldn't be surprised if objections to moonbattery were soon classified as mental illness.

The PG is infested with Moonbats, the only reason I still buy the Sunday edition is the Sports section and the comics and the TV guide. Most of the rest of it is a load of crap. The Opinion/Editorial section is 90% Moonbat.

I have yet to hear how the Pittsburgh P-G has become the final arbiter on questions concerning the Flight 93 Memorial -- someone died and they were elected Design Pope?

Michelle Malkin went into great detail on this whole cluster-f--k several months ago: the basic problem was that the initial design was done by a raving leftist Moonbat from California (no landscape designers or architects live in Pennsylvania, I reckon). This dolt's apparent principal motivation was to "bring people together" ("Can't we all just get along?"), hence all the Islamic totems and symbols infesting what should be strictly a memorial to those who died on Flight 93.

But, NO, we can't have that; we have to "include" the poor Muslim victims who died along with the passengers and crew of Flight 93, don't we? I mean, after all, they were killed by these evil Americans short of accomplishing their mission of plowing their hijacked airplane into either the Capitol Building or the White House. So they need to be honored, too, in order to "bring us all together -- Kuummmmbayaaahhhhh!"

I stick with my original suggestion for the Memorial: a simple marble or stone monument at the site of the crash, with the names of all of the crew and passengers inscribed thereon, the date "September 11, 2001," and the words "Let's Roll!" Nowhere on nor within a million miles of the Memorial will the names of the Muslim hijackers appear. And, finally, the admonition: "Dear Islamofascist Scum -- this is what happens when you screw around with real Americans. Roast in Hell forever, you miserable failures!"

These fucking swine make me puke. They should be deported to Saudi Ragheadia. Here's a tip for Jimbo - this "memorial" is clearly an expression of jihad. It is a crescent shape with a grove of trees meeting between the points of the crescent, much like the star in the infamous islamic symbol. There are to be glass blocks to represent the victims, including 4 for the nazlamic murderers that perpetrated the atrocity. The crescent itself points directly away from mUcca on a great circle - an outward expression of jihad. And I'll tell you this as a person with a degree in landscape design: every last tiny little bit of a site is designed specifically. Absolutely nothing is left to chance, let alone these major elements that I have described here. There is no way in hell that the crescent is to point directly away from mUcca on a great circle (google that term if you don't know what it means) BY CHANCE. Sorry, but this is what design is all about. The designer of this abomination is a traitor to all of western civilization and should be punished, if not officially, then unofficially by the population at large. Read this for a more detailed explanation: http://fallbackbelmont.blogspot.com/2005/09/flight-93-memorial.html

The evidence is conclusive: the Flight 93 "memorial" is nothing but a bunch of dhimmis exposing their already-gaping assholes for another reaming by Achmed.

I contacted my senators and my congressman, oh, a year ago when I first heard of this disgrace. I actually was responded-to by none other than moonbat senator Mark Dayton. Remember that clown? He had one of his staffers call me and leave a message to the effect that they had investigated my claims and found nothing to be wrong with the memorial. If an A+ moonbat like Mark Dayton finds nothing wrong with the memorial it is a good indication that everything is wrong with it.

Enough with these traitors!

If that's the case, Jimbo, why not just design a memorial that isn't in the shape of a crescent?

This abstract crap really isn't necessary anyway. Screw the wind chimes and all that other new age touch feely crap. Put up a statue. Build a nice normal museum and memorial garden. Make it rectangular. Make it trapezoid. Make the event the center of attention instead of the architect's ego.

WI & V the K -

Sorry I didn't make my position so clear...

If you walk in to a mosque without recognizing their silly little god, to silly mooslims you may as well be pissing on the koran and slapping that pedophile Moohamhead.

SOOOO... Everyone who vistis the memorial who doesn't recognize all the silly mooslim idol-crap, is just pissing on their symbol/little god/moohamhead.

FYI; There is a place for crescents. For instance, I've considered painting one in the bottom of my commode bowl.

Am I making more sense? Probably not. Let me have another neer and I'll get back to you. :-)

OH! V the K - I meant to address "why not just design a memorial that isn't in the shape of a crescent?"

Because an amphitheater design gives justice to a cause through "channeled focus" and allows the maximum number of people to be spectators. (That's Architecture 101 which I had in 1974.)

Can I say this again - just so y'all remember; if the designers of this memorial mean to "honor allah and his murderers" - they will get their just rewards. Visit the memorial and while there confirm your dedication to Jesus Christ (or anything but "allah") and it will be the same as desicrating their "holy" book of murder.

Posted by: Jimbo at August 22, 2007 3:55 PM

There are to be glass blocks to represent the victims, including 4 for the nazlamic murderers that perpetrated the atrocity.

If there really are going to be four blocks for the terrorists, then I will consider personally scheduling a vacation to Pennsylvania to visit the "memorial" and trash the four blocks myself. How outrageous.

I expect someone else will beat me to it, though.

Jimbo,

The excuse about moo-scums being offended if one does not recognize satan (allah) as one enters the muskque is a cheap cop-out. I would bet that most of the muz haven't a clue about that either. It makes no difference as the crescent, star, and glass blocks to honor the nazlamic murderers could not possibly be a louder affirmation of dhimmitude. It is beyond disgraceful. Whatsmore is that this sort of bullpewp is going to continue until the American cultural apparatii are wrested away from the nihilists and bolsheviks that currently control them. As for these willing dhimmis getting "their just rewards," not all of us believe in god and would prefer to see justice done here on earth. The god of the bible commands it anyway.
