Lettuce No More
Does this mean we can't call him Lettuce anymore?
Open borders advocate John McCain has abruptly changed his tune, deftly steering away from the iceberg even as water pouring in through the hole it tore in his bow reaches his chin. His resolute opposition to border security and sponsorship of the thankfully defeated McCain–Kennedy shamnesty abomination have his presidential ambitions headed straight for Davy Jones' locker, but at least he has finally seen the error of his ways.
Now McCain supports a bill that offers no amnesty, that toughens penalties for sneaking back in after being deported, that requires employers to check workers' citizenship status, and that finally requires illegal aliens who break other laws to stay in jail until they've been deported.
Other sponsors of the bill include Lindsey Graham and Jon Kyl, both of whom prominently supported the Senate's latest attempt to ram amnesty down the country's throats. Could it be that at long last they've remembered who they work for?

McCain is mortally wounded politically. No matter what he does now it wont matter.

These are the same crew who told us we had to swallow the amnesty bill because no way was an enforcement-only bill going to go anywhere in the Senate.
I think I've got some crow in the refrigerator if they're hungry.

A desperate man will do just about anything.

Isn't Yuma the lettuce capital of this country?

That's not going to help him in his presidential aspirations. I hope he realizes that he's got a stinking political albatross around his neck. The only way I'd even consider the possibility of voting for McCain would be if he thoroughly renounced McCain–Feingold (and publicy appologized for it for all the right reasons), and got it off the books. You're going to reap what you sow, McCain.
