Janeane Garofalo to Join 24
The coming season of Fox's 24, in which Jack Bauer battles the fictitious menace of global warming, promises to be even more of a train wreck than already expected. Comedienne/activist Janeane Garofalo, formerly of the shrill left-wing hatefest Err America, is joining the cast.
To get a flavor of Garofalo's mentality, here's a sample of her wit and wisdom, via Celiberal:
Our country is founded on a sham: our forefathers were slave-owning rich white guys who wanted it their way. So when I see the American flag, I go, 'Oh my God, you're insulting me.' That you can have a gay parade on Christopher Street in New York, with naked men and women on a float cheering, 'We're here, we're queer!' — that's what makes my heart swell. Not the flag, but a gay naked man or woman burning the flag. I get choked up with pride.
At least the 24 folks no longer have to worry about getting their scripts cleared by CAIR.

On a tip from Aaron.

I am not a "24" fan, but does it seem that they are about to "jump the shark"?
James Cromwell was bad enough, but this?

I predict 24 is just about to sink like a rock.

I think you should have said "alleged comedienne."

Ah...Janeane. Star of Mystery Men, Steal This Movie, Wet Hot American Summer, and other fine cinema. This former hottie (I admit it, I used to like her) is pretty much the kiss of death for any project she takes part in, be it movies or radio. Bye, bye, Jack Bauer! You've met your match!

Wasn't she in some comedy about bowling with Ben Stiller also?
I do not watch 24 (yes, I know it makes me seem freakish), but it was nice that Garofalo, after her exit from Air America, had faded into the woodwork. Now that she'll be on a prominent program that showcases terrorism, etc., she'll be highly sought after by journalists for commentary on Iraq and so on "because she plays one on TV."
Get out your Pepto Bismol now, folks.

I have not been watching 24 from the beginning. I've only seen the last three seasons and I enjoyed the show. joe-6-pack is right, Cromwell was bad enough. I'm done with 24. I won't watch because of Garofalo and the global warming plotline.

If the Flag insults the silly twit why is she here?
She insults me. But my heart would swell with pride to see her dowsed with lighter fluid and burned.

Meanwhile, between her thighs, Jeanine's last viable egg fell out into the toilet today.

What is it with these lefties bringing the fug?
Is it part of their ethos to just be as ugly as possible? Is this a rebellion of some sort?
Maybe Phil can tell us.

I watched Rush Limbaugh lead a Q and A of the 24 cast at the Heritage Foundation and I thought then that those guys were ducking any association with conservatism in a big way.
Rush has continued to sing the praises of the program so I am inclined to believe that Garofalo has been brought in to offset the praise from the right. I have never seen her act and I am glad that she isn't breeding like a rabbit with Sean Penn, but I can not see how she is going to draw ratings.
I have heard her talk politics and she certainly comes in well below the level of "twit."

"24" will officially Jump The Shark if all this is true? Global Warming? Janeane Buffalo Face? What a mess...

The garofalo season of 24 can be viewed with the same ho hum as I did for the season 4 of Airwolf.

Great another Hollywood personage who thinks they know every thing about the political stage. We are about to legitimize another one by putting her on a regular TV show. I predict that "24" will go down hill after her arrival, but she'll be legitimized and then be a regular on Bill Maher's show like the rest of the legitimized HollyWood "stars".

more like janeane "barfalo"!

Well, this will make her an "expert" on terrorism, preparing her for testimony in front of congress.

It's a Liberal world my friend. Especially
Hollywierd. Joel Surnow did give us The Half
Hour News Hour, which is pretty good.

I have been a fan of "24" since the first season. Last year it was pretty boring and I missed 3-4 episodes. No big deal. The story plot jumped and there were things in the plot that were physically impossible.
But with the addition of the woman that makes movies about dogs [perhaps being one herself] "24" has lost a viewer. I don't watch Alec Baldwin movies, I won't work out with Hanoi Jane and anything with the commie, Charlie Sheen, is not for me. So no, I won't watch "24" this January.
One exception: Jack Bauer ties the dog lady up, uses cattle prods on her and makes her tell him where the bad guys are hiding out before he ships her off to China to be Kimmie's sex slave.

Between Hyena Garofalo and the global warming propaganda I'm really looking forward to the next season... of Lost.
If I didn't have to blog about it, I wouldn't watch. I'll at least be able to vent.

Yikes! With Garofalo, 24 hours will seem like 48!
Is Rosie and Jane up next for guest shots?

So I'm supposed to be the resident expert on fugly Lefties?
Sigh...O.K.
Being a creation of the Left in the 1970s, the women's movement taught women that they didn't need a man to be successful or complete. Therefore, a lot of female liberal arts majors gave up on trying to make themselves attractive to men. Which is great advice, if you happen to be Janet Reno.
I've matured over the years. I'd jump over 10 Janeanes to get one Laura Ingraham.

My biggest hope is some terrorist will shoot her dead within the first hour

"This former hottie (I admit it, I used to like her) is pretty much the kiss of death for any project she takes part in, be it movies or radio."
Well, she was in "Ratatouille," which was admittedly pretty good (Not Pixar's best film, but far from its worst). She fortunately didn't use her normally obnoxious and deadpan voice in it, so you couldn't even really tell it was her. Her character even makes a pretty insulting comment about the French at one point in it.
Here's hoping she turns out on the show to be a mole for a U.S. far- left terrorist group, and Jack blows her away with an assault rifle.
