HuffPo Moonbat Calls For Military Coup
Possibly inspired by liberal heartthrob Hugo Chavez, who originally tried to take power in a military coup, Huffington Post's insufferable Martin Lewis has called for a coup right here in the USA, on the grounds that his advanced BDS makes waiting until January 2009 for Bush to leave office inconceivable.
In a dust-dry yet extremely disturbing piece that quotes the United States Code and the Uniform Code of Military Justice, Lewis attempts to make the case that General Peter Pace can and should:
- Relieve President Bush of his elected role as Commander-in-Chief.
- Place Bush under military arrest.
In the midst of earnestly pleading with Pace to lead a military coup and attempting to justify it legally, Lewis asserts:
I am NOT advocating or inciting you to undertake any illegal act, insurrection, mutiny, putsch or military coup.
This busts up John Hawkins at Right Wing News:
You've got to love how the guy is calling for a military coup, but then he includes a line saying he is not calling for a military coup. It's not a coup because he doesn't call it a coup.
Liberals love that kind of talk. It's not a baby, it's a "choice." Hillary isn't liberal, she's "progressive." They don't want to surrender in Iraq, they just want to "redeploy" the troops. It's not a tax increase, it's "making people pay their fair share." So, if you propose an "illegal act, insurrection, mutiny, putsch or military coup," but call it something else, it doesn't count. Gotcha.
Neither is Hawkins misled by Lewis' later obnoxiously condescending claim that he was just kidding, but the dummies in Jesusland don't understand satire. As Hawkins notes, the original post was dry, legalistic, and not even remotely humorous. Also, Lewis' initial reaction when challenged by commenters was to puff out his sunken chest and defend his position self-righteously:
I utterly reject the use of any force or illegal action of any kind and specifically reject and condemn any calls for it. I do call on General Pace to speak his conscience and to do his ethical, moral duty to his forces and to his nation. Sometimes the right words from a man of courage have a moral impact that resonates.
You see, no force will be involved, so long as the President comes along quietly.
This is the discourse on a major liberal blog before the Dems get back in the White House. Imagine the political climate when Shrillary can go back to collecting FBI files.

We should call this the "Crow" defense, in honor of Sheryl Crow's toilet paper brouhaha: "I was only kidding."

I don't really want the military in charge of running this country, but it does give you goose-bumps when you think of all the Moonbats who could be rounded up and put into "re-education" camps, to set their minds "right."
After all, John Kerry (who served in Vietnam, so that makes him an expert) says that re-education camps aren't all that bad, right? So, perhaps he'd like to spend some time in one himself . . .
