GreenStone Radio Sinks Like a Rock
Remember GreenStone, the feminazi radio project that was supposed to succeed where Al Franken's corrupt Err America has so miserably failed? Brace yourself for a very small surprise:
To thunderous acclaim from the liberal intelligentsia, a team of feminist icons — including Gloria Steinem and Jane Fonda — last year launched a women-run radio network. The mainstream media dutifully parroted press releases describing the launch as a "breakthrough" for women in the male-dominated world of talk radio.
The Boston Globe, for example, proclaimed that "GreenStone gives women an outlet." Business Week described the venture as "Talk Radio Minus The Testosterone."
Last Friday, GreenStone Media signed off for good.
Evidently programming that "carefully was designed by feminist experts to appeal to female tastes" appealed to no one but hardcore moonbats whose point of view already saturates television and is available on the radio via NPR, courtesy of our tax dollars. GreenStone was picked up by only eight affiliates, none in major markets.
GreenStone president and CEO Susan Ness whimpers that "women need a voice on commercial radio" and "radio needs women's voices."
Some good news for Susan:
- Laura Ingraham is on 340 stations and draws an audience of over 5 million.
- Dr. Laura Schlessinger's audience is larger still.
- Martha Zoeller, Janet Parshall, and Tammy Bruce are all doing fine.
- Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity don't have to be women to provide programming that millions of women want to hear.
But of course, these are all conservatives.
It's that cruel free market at work again, forcing radio stations to provide programming that people want to listen to. No wonder libs are trying to revive the Unfairness Doctrine.

You know, as I saw your headline (I heard about this a week or so ago), all I could think about was people like Laura Ingraham, et al, and how well they do...then saw you quoted someone else mentioning the same thing. But as you point out, these women are conservative, and therefore not worthy of mention. You know, Tammy Bruce is still a Democrat (and she's a lesbian) but she is verrry moderate in her views...she is now persona non grata on the left.

laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
it must be difficult to stay on the radio when your only audience is sitting right across the table from you!

...carefully was designed by feminist experts to appeal to female tastes..."
And no one knows more about how females taste than feminists.
Sorry, couldn't resist.

So long, Jane! Like that moron professor Gutschlang (or whatever his name is) of the "Peace" movement (read: dove white on the outside, beet red on the inside), your days of usefulness are loooooonnnnnng past -- good-bye and good riddance. Your last decent acting job was in "Barbarella," and that required precious little acting mostly while running around barely clad. But those days are gone now, I Ain't Fonda Jane -- it's a radical new world, babe, and your existence and what you think about things no longer matter a whit.
