Even Some in Hollyweird Fed Up With Sean Penn

Sean Penn's recent trip to hobnob with noisily anti-American dictator Hugo Chavez has disgusted some people even in Tinseltown. From the Chicago Sun-Times:

Even major Hollywood liberals are saying Sean Penn "went too far" in letting himself be used by Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez to again bash the United States. It was all part of a very anti-American and anti-Hollywood propaganda pitch to boost various Venezuelan causes — including a visit to a filming site project that is being launched specifically to snare moviemaking away from Hollywood.
Asking not to be identified, one major Hollywood producer — himself a big contributor to liberal causes and Democratic candidates — told this column Sunday, "It's no secret that Sean is very left-wing, even in a town where liberal or even radical politics have long been common. But as much as many people here despise [President] Bush, a lot of us think this trip to Venezuela by [Penn] was wrong.
"Danny Glover did it too. … It isn't the proper thing and only gives ammunition to conservatives who like to point to Hollywood as being anti-American."

That it does. Notice the major Hollywood producer didn't dare give his name for fear of being blackballed, handing conservatives still more ammunition.

Any enemy of America is a friend of Sean Penn.

HollyWEIRD doesnt like the truth getting out.

Notice he's not denying Hollwood is anti-American, just mad that Penn is making it more obvious.

Notice too that he won't go on the record, choosing to remain anonymous. What's the matter, afraid he won't get anymore lucrative projects?

Too right, if Penn was really up to speed he would know fashionable lefties are sucking up to Ortega these days.

What we really need is a movie that shows a fictional Hollywood star consorting with some Third World thug. The star would serve as the useful idiot, betray the US (with good intentions, of course), and unwittingly assist in the successful completion of a major terrorist attack. A film like that would get people thinking that it's not a game.

Fight Hollywood with Hollywood.

Great idea, AWOL.

How about a movie where a decent businessman, just trying to support his community and give people jobs, is driven to bankruptcy by government bureaucrats, a bunch of trial lawyers, and one neurotic biyotch of a woman with a chip on her shoulder?

I would love that Sean Penn investigate a little more about the reality in Venezuela and the corruption in the goverment, and teh killings and the amount of money that Chavez gave to other country while venezuelan kids are in extreme poverty
Shame on you Mr Penn

>>....and anti-Hollywood propaganda pitch to boost various Venezuelan causes — including a visit to a filming site project that is being launched specifically to snare moviemaking away from Hollywood.

And there we have the core of his objection.

Ironic that such a violent person as Sean Penn would have the bleeding heart he seems to have for the underdogs of the world. Where is this heart when he busts the noses of photogs just trying to earn a living, or when he was abusing his ex, Madonna? His ramblings barely make sense. He's just an angry individual who doesn't understand the first thing about the world we live in. Bet his Jewish grandparents would be real proud he's so supportive of Iran having a nuclear weapon when they plan to nuke Israel with it!

Mr Penn deserves venezuela. Ill even help pack his bags.

What I find curious is that Penn hasn't made a public statemnt from within the country. ( Then again I may have missed it ) His words, instead, being read aloud by the red-shirted gutter thug. In a truly free country we would have seen an impromptu televison or radio interview. That ought to be clue #1 of what is at the core of Chavez's revolution. Clue #2... it isn't freedom of speech.

Too bad Chavez doesnt end up like the Red Shirts in Star Trek.

Other movies you will never see...

1) A film about a Catholic priest working at a homeless shelter in Hell's Kitchen. The kicker is, the priest isn't gay, isn't having an affair with a married woman, and he's not secretly working for the Antichrist.
2) A film about a gung-ho Marine in Iraq who votes Republican. The Marine isn't gay, he's not a sadist, and he doesn't rape anybody.
3) A film about a happily married interracial couple, with several children. The race of the characters is never mentioned.

"...including a visit to a filming site project that is being launched specifically to snare moviemaking away from Hollywood."

Go Hugo!! This would bankrupt a bunch of leftist hypocrites, and the propaganda would not be as slick as what we get from Hollywood now. I love it.

phil
I'd like to see a scene where a gay character yells at a "pride day" gathering "SHUT UP YOU STUPID PERVERTS! YOU MAKE ME WANT TO BE STRAIGHT!"

Posted by: KHarn at August 7, 2007 1:12 PM

A few years ago there was a comedy called Cecil B. Demented where a gay character goes into an emotional meltdown when he starts being attracted to women.
