Kevin, you may be even closer than you realise. Early image of of the god that later mutated in to Allah often represented him as a bull, with crescent-horns and a star between the tips. It is more than likely that the 'golden calf' in Exodus was an early version of the same god. Worship of a moon/bull god was quite common throughout the middle east and north africa in those days.

Echoing Kevin and Archonix's posts...Yep..."allah" is a calf-moon god. Not even close to the true Creator. The real Lord doesn't have some cutsy man-made appellative like Dagon, Zeus, Isis, Molloch, Allah etc.

When Moses asked who He was, the Lord simply replied "I AM"; meaning, when you're the "one" then there's no need for names, because He was the first and only entity, the well-spring of life etc. The Hebrew for this is YHVH (Yah for short) and we translate it as Jehovah. It was only when born into flesh that He acquired a human name reflecting His humility.

Anyone hear ever read 'The Chronicles of Narnia; The Last Battle'? This "Bishop" sounds a great deal like that book's villain, Shift. In the book, Shift has his dim- witted friend Puzzle disguise himself as Aslan (The noble Lion who rules Narnia and is representative of Jesus) so he can gain control over Narnia. Eventually, he forms an alliance with a mostly warlike and violent neighboring group, the Calormenes, who are pretty clearly shown to be representative of Muslims, and who worship an evil demonic deity called Tash. Some of the Narnians ask why they should side with a group who worships such a savage and evil being, and Shift deceieves them by basically saying, "All that stuff about us being right and the Calormenes wrong is just stupid. We know better now. Tash and Aslan are just two different names for You Know Who. Get that into your heads, you idiots; Tash is Aslan. Aslan is Tash." Of course, this is revealed to be a lie, and things don't turn out so well for Shift. The bishop will share the same fate if he continues to compromise his faith and kiss up to Muslims.
