Compost Queen Goes on Tree-Killing Spree

Bette Midler cut down more than 230 trees around one of her properties on the island of Kauai without a permit, and the state has recommended she be fined. […]
Midler, known for her longtime commitment to the environment, was once known as the Compost Queen and appeared on billboards in Los Angeles advocating green recycling containers are for yard trimmings.
Midler's attorney sheepishly explained that she had the trees cut down on her 58,000-square-foot North Shore estate because they were nonnative species.
A better defense might have been that it's her own business what she does with trees on her property. But that kind of talk might endanger her precious reputation for being at the front of the environmentalist bandwagon.

Can you imagine her outrage if someone else did the same thing? I like her as as singer and actress, but she's become a real goody-goody of late, and it's ticking me off.

Hypocrite extraordinare! Yet another liberal algore-ite living by the principle: "Do as I say, not as I do." Bette is of the "elite," of course, a "celebrity," therefore she knows better than anyone else (esp. those Neandertal "conservatives") how you should live your life (you're simply too stoooooopid, don'cha know?).
"Despise" is far too mild a word for how I feel about all these celebrity left-wing Moonbats.
