Brad Pitt Building Green Slum
Having bought a $3.5-million mansion in New Orleans with his common-law wife Angelina Jolie, movie star Brad Pitt is participating in the construction of politically correct "green" slums where commoners of the Lower Ninth Ward can live.
The award winning design for his slum is a house with a cistern and toilets designed for water conservation (very important when you're in a swamp), soy-based insulation (if the welfare check's late, maybe the residents can eat it), paperless drywall (paper causes global warming; just ask Cheryl Crow), and even solar panels (to help make it affordable).
Regrettably there was no mention of rooftop helicopter pads to allow for easy evacuation when the region inevitably floods again.
The plan is to sell the homes to former residents of the neighborhood. Since there's little chance any could afford them, I suspect government subsidies will come into play.

I have a better idea to rebuild the slums of New Orleans!!!
Boats!
Get all sorts of cast-off boats and set them up as houses. Old aircraft carriers could be housing projects while smaller boats could be used for small families or individuals. The best part is these people can just float over to the FEMA folks to collect cash/ATM cards when the next big hurricane hits and floods the region again.
And to make Brad Pitt happy they could install buckets in the boats. Buckets use even less water than low-flow toilets so that's good, right?

'scuse me, but white hats are reserved for upper echelons in the construction bidness - that means 20+ years of experience - brad's a white hat wannabe. at best, he would be afforded one of these...if'n he had the gutz...

Nanc, money buys just about anything...even supposed experience. Think back to the days in Britain where privileged young men who were expected to join the military bought their commissions as officers instead of earning them. Same concept, different time...
