Libs Denounce Fred Thompson As Gay
Vociferously homosexual blogger Andrew Sullivan, aka Andrianna Sullington, has hit a new low by attempting to spread the rumor that Fred Thompson shares his perverse "orientation":
Outside the extremist, activist base, regular GOP voters turn out to be relatively tolerant when it comes to sexual minorities and private sex lives. They're not well represented by their party leaders, as far as policy is concerned. This is good news for Fred Thompson. The man has had a colorful and wide-ranging sex life, as I'm sure we will soon find out.
Wonkette interprets:
Translated: COUGH COUGH GAY COUGH COUGH FRED THOMPSON IS GAY GAY GAY COUGH COUGH
But that's not all.
Sullivan is not even close to the first person we've heard float this particular rumor, not that that says anything as to its truth.
Suburban Guerrilla clambers aboard:
Why are all his ex-girlfriends so eager to come to the defense of his manliness?
Why did James Dobson say he was "un-Christian"?
Why is Rush Limbaugh complaining about the coverage of Thompson as sex symbol, saying, "There's something wrong here"?
Lots and lots of rumors. I've heard them myself - I've even talked to someone who has witnessed some interesting behavior. I noticed when the Washington Post recently profiled him, several of the local commenters reacted along the lines of "I thought he was gay?"
As Ace of Spades graphically documents, Sullivan is in a very poor position to be spreading whispering campaigns about other people's sex lives. But what really confuses me is: why do liberals try to smear people by suggesting that they're gay? What are they, homophobes?

On a tip from V the K.

Its amazing - Liberals using GAY as an insult. Yet the homosexual groups say nothing?
Is G. offended? LOL!

Sorry, Fred Thompson just doesn't have the Gay look. Sully on the other hand nailed it!
Posted by: Earl at July 13, 2007 7:35 AM
That just sealed it - Van Helsing refers to me as perverse in his own article.
An innate difference in sexual orientation and Van Helsing refers to me as perverse. Doesn't even know me either.
And you people wonder why no self respecting gay person will EVER be a Republican.
Later.

Hmm. The Bible calls it perversion.
Let me choose here...
Homosexual who says it isn't, or God who says it is.
Gee whiz... I gotta go with God on this one.

nanc: "i don't. i wonder why any self respecting person would be gay, however."

You mean like the log cabin republicans.
I know you'll read this G. You can't stay away.

When Ann Coulter made the remark that she thought John Edwards was GAY, there was an uproar on the Moonbat left.
Wanna bet there will be no such uproar from the lefties here even remotely like that of the Coulter remark? Provided its even mentioned at all on the lefty networks.

Uh, huh -- yeah, Fred Thompson's gay . . .
There are apparently a hell of a lot of great looking women, all of them speaking from personal experience, who would vehemently disagree with you there, Sully.
Oh, btw, what Rush was referring to when he spoke about Fred Thompson as a "sex symbol," and "there's something wrong here," etc., was the fact that Mr. Thompson, just an ordinary looking guy, kind of a loveable schlub, has females draped all over him; a regular "babe magnet." If Fred can score with this many beautiful women, maybe there's hope for the rest of us schlubs, is Rush's take. It's called "tongue-in-cheek," Sully -- you know (or, I guess you don't, do you?), a sense of humor?
Helps if you actually listen to his show once in a while, Sully, rather than take what others (with agendas) say about what he says; or rather than cherry-picking quotes completely out of context. Yeah, I know, but that's the liberal way of doing things -- if it don't fit the pre-conceptions, if it don't go along with the latest talking points, ignore it, or just lie, lie, lie.

Self-respecting gay people? Definitely an oxymoron. I hear that homosexuality cuts 20 years off a man's life, if you can call it a life, that is.
Posted by: Farmer John at July 13, 2007 11:10 AM
Doesn't that mean that if Fred Thompson were gay, he'd probably already be dead?
Posted by: Farmer John at July 13, 2007 11:11 AM
Once again G. avoids the subject. Come on G., I've tried to draw you into the conversation a couple of times, stick to the subject instead of playing the victim!
Liberals love gays, but ONLY when they are politicly expedient.
Posted by: KHarn at July 13, 2007 11:24 AM
Gotta love it, for the kajillionth time: queers are always trying to bloviate about how perfectly natural their perversion is, and yet they never miss a chance use "gay" as a derogative on their critics. Priceless!

Nanc says: "nanc: "i don't. i wonder why any self respecting person would be gay, however."
Ya know - I'm not gay (far from it), but I do know a few gay people and as a cop worked around them all the time. I have to say your comment is simply out of line. I would wonder how a self-respecting person who claims to be a Christian could characterize others - irrespective of their orientation - like you do.
The Bible says - "hate the sin - love the sinner".
Posted by: Bruce at July 13, 2007 12:34 PM
I do not believe that the bible is literally true.
In fact it has been proven NOT to be literally true [the earth was not created in 6 days, etc.]
Homosexuality is biological - not a choice or a "sin."

For the religious funds. - stop picking and choosing which scriptures to lecture others about and which ones to ignore - like the scriptures that say that slavery is good, stoning your child is good, and eating shelfish on sabbath is an abomination, etc., etc.

This is a skinhead website.

So I guess Fred has the gay vote?..
I'm confused as to what this is supposed to accomplish.

Libs aren't criticizing these closeted Republican politicians for being GAY, but for being HYPOCRITES.

The Undecider,
Correct - thanks. Most of the posters here are not exactly brainiacs.

Hi G., I mean "Anonymous". I thought you were leaving us. Since I can't stand extended farewells, I'm going to give us all a little rest from you.

well, bruth - apparently you do not walk the fine line which has been drawn for christians. life is not grey believe it or not - it is black or white, light or darkness, good or evil - the practice of homosexuality is dark, black and evil - it's really quite easy to think this way you see - because homosexuality CANNOT be correct if heterosexuality is.
yes, love the sinner - hate the sin. i agree wholeheartedly.

Van- THANKS!!!!!

If Thompson were gay, he wouldn't have a hot trophy wife, he'd have a chubby fag-hag type. Like Elizabeth Edwards.
Posted by: V the K at July 13, 2007 6:16 PM
nanc says more drivel:
"well, bruth - apparently you do not walk the fine line which has been drawn for christians. life is not grey believe it or not - it is black or white, light or darkness, good or evil - the practice of homosexuality is dark, black and evil - it's really quite easy to think this way you see - because homosexuality CANNOT be correct if heterosexuality is."
I hope that is a typo and not some repugnant attempt to associate my name with "gayness". But based on your previous posts it probably is. Nice try - my wife of 37 years is still laughing.
The world is not black or white - there are shades of gray to everything despite your narrow-minded view. People with attitudes like yours scare me, actually. You give real Christians a bad name. A disciple of Fred Phelps, perhaps?
It is impossible for people to engage in civilized discussion of real issues when certain individuals find it necessary to demean and defame anyone who disagrees with their view. Might be one reason I left the Conservative Party and their single issue platform and re-registered as Independent. If you are representative of the true Conservative party these days - I'm glad I did - you don't speak for me. I can agree or disagree with G or others of his orientation (political or otherwise) without resorting to personal invective.
Perhaps you ought to study your black and white Bible a bit more?
Posted by: Bruce at July 13, 2007 7:09 PM
perhaps you ought to try being a little more honest with yourself - right after you give me five examples grey life areas.

Hey "anon"
Just gotta love how both the fundies and the leftists try to manipulate holy scripture over this "literal" issue. Yes, the days of creation are symbolic, the "snake" in the Garden is metaphoric and the "fruit" is metaphoric. What that means is the events happened in a way that is more profound and more real than one's limited definition of "literal".
Metaphor and parable (remember Christ loved to use parables) serve a useful purpose. They throw off the spiritually blind so they either deny God's word altogether (leftists) or they really screw up the interpretation and end up making asses of themselves (fundies). There are of course, plenty of concrete events in scripture (You shall not murder, man shall not lie with mankind as it does womankind, i.e. homosexuality). And as we know, politics, opinion and drug-inspired philosophic bullshit don't decide what happens in the spiritual realm. Might be interesting to to lock up the leftists and fundies (of all religions) in one room and let them have at it once and for all.

One of the tenants of Socialist/Marxist/Liberal/Progressive (whatever term they are trashing of late) is to call their opponents exactly what they are. A tactic that goes back before Lenin.
Gays have been smearing opponents for years by calling them gay. Walt Disney for instance. Staunch anti communist.
It all boils down to the fact that there are no depths they consider to low to go, just don't criticize them too heavily or they will slither back underground. Much better to have them out in the open, easily identified, and making sure the left is viewed as total fools. They do it so well.
Posted by: Anonymous at July 14, 2007 2:34 AM
anon - they cannot help but look foolish; it comes naturally to them.

pinhead nanc ...
I'm totally honest with myself. I know who I am and what I am and so does my family and friends. Those who matter, iow. You ought to try it sometime. Admit you're just a bigoted non-Christian in the mold of the Phelps - which I notice you don't deny. I know Christians. I have fundementalist Christian friends, including a few preachers. YOU are no Christian.
You really are a despicable excuse for a human being.
Posted by: Bruce at July 14, 2007 7:17 AM
thank you, bruth. you are too kind.
Posted by: nanc at July 14, 2007 9:14 AM
p.s. - was that your little foot i just heard stomping?
Posted by: nanc at July 14, 2007 9:16 AM
Hah ... you wish:)
You are the perfect illustration that there are moonbats on both sides of the aisle. I don't know which is more dangerous, although I'm getting a better idea after reading your tripe.
I notice you still haven't denied being a disciple of the Phelps. Rather telling.
Someday, you will have to face your God and answer for your distorted view of His word. I pity you.
Posted by: Bruce at July 14, 2007 11:08 AM
i support groups who go up against phelps and his kind.

Undecider says:

First of all, MOST republicans, including myself, don't hold any bigoted views towards gay people. There is nothing for us to be hypocritical about. Don't fool yourself into believing that Republican means religious, anti-gay, blah, blah, blah. It means pro-family, hard work, earning your place in society, etc.
That said, the libs foolishly criticize their opponents as gay because they think it will turn that person's voter base away. I couldn't care less if Fred Thompson is gay, so long as he wants for the country the same things I do.
