Illegal Alien Plans "Campaign of Resistance"

Now we're in for it. Mexican citizen Elvira Arellano, who holed up in a Chicago-era Methodist church screaming for sanctuary like Quasimodo in Hunchback of Notre Dame when the authorities tried to deport her, is calling for a "campaign of resistance" to teach the USA a lesson for even thinking about defending its borders.

Her written statement appeared in the newspaper of La Raza, the group of militantly racist Hispanics before whom allegedly Republican Senator Lindsey Grahamnesty denounced as "bigots" any Americans who would choose to distinguish between legal and illegal immigrants.

Arellano demands an immediate end to the handful of token raids and deportations by which the government hopes to persuade the gullible that it is defending our territorial sovereignty. She's been cooped up in the church for almost a year; our system is so emasculated by moonbattery that no one has the spine to drag her out and kick her back across the border, despite her having been caught using a fake Social Security number.

If we do not do as Ms. Arellano commands, we're in big trouble. She has called for immigrant organizations to launch a campaign "aimed at bringing this government and this economy to a halt."

Looks like they've already accomplished the first part. Michael Chertoff says America doesn't have what it takes to enforce immigration laws. The guy heads the Department of Homeland Security.

An unwed mother, Arellano specializes in using her child as a prop.

On a tip from Wiggins.

I don't think the La Raza newspaper has any relation to the NCLR, the group to whom Graham spoke. There are several groups with that in their name.

She can scream it from Mexico. I can't wait for the day when she and other like minded illegal aliens make a similar push except with the intention being to protest their home countries for the corruption that forced them out. Moonbattery provides the path of least resistance.

Ah... So everyone has been ignoring the silly little illegal and it pisses her off, so now she's making noise to get attention?

Why haven't Soros and Bush teamed up to give her automatic citizenship and a Mercedes?

Do a GOOG search for her name...some interesting commie stuff pops up. Her ideology is that she owns everything, including the US, because nobody owns anything. Sorta like communal, filthy hippies.

Did she write it in English?

How is it relevant that she's an unwed mother?

Is it relevant that she's illegal?

Let here stay there with that goofy smile for the rest of her life, as long as she never ever leaves.

Her being an unwed mother is extremely relevant. This woman is emblematic of the underclass our government has in effect been importing by refusing to defend the border, and the crippling burden it will place on the entitlement system.

I heard a man- born, raised and college-educated in Mexico, mind you- put it very well: "The U.S., by leaving its borders open, is only importing poverty, ignorance and arrogance." And he was just one of many Hispanics in America who are trying to warn us as to what we're allowing to happen to us. This is what Mexican-American policeman Kevin Ruiz said in an interview with Heather McDonald as he viewed the house he grew up in, now festooned with ratty cars, broken appliances and mounds of trash: "We're only building an underclass."

Whether we want to aknowledge it or not, we are building our own version of the West Bank.

Anonymous,

The fact that she's an unwed mother is irrelevant from a moral sense, in my opinion.

But it is very relevent in the sense that it somehow gives her moral authority in the eyes of leftwing liberals and the mainstream media who would ignore hardworking, conservative immigrants who try for years to come to the U.S. legally while giving a pass to Arellano because she fits their world view.

It's those little things you've got to watch for that give away the true intent behind stories like this.

You want to bleed your heart out? Try the story of Genevieve Vang, or the woman from Cuba who came here with her parents when she was 1 year old (don't have the link). She never had any idea she wasn't a citizen, lived here her whole life, raised a family, was elected to the city council in her California town, and now will probably be deported.

You want to shed some tears? Shed them for people who TRIED to do it right, who came here legally (or so they thought), followed the rules, etc.

But no, they don't fit your profile. They're too....normal.

Listen, the system is broken. What are you going to do? At some point you're going to have to look at individuals and say "you can stay, you must go" based on those individuals. Maybe Arellano would get to stay, maybe not. But certainly we shouldn't give her a "leg up" simply because she's more liberal than others, or because she's an unwed mother, especially when those others are attempting to do it legally!
