Hollywood Planning Defeatist Propaganda Barrage

Smelling victory, America's enemies within are gearing up for a major assault intended to break our spirits and ensure victory for al-Qaeda and Iran. Hollyweird is planning to flood the market with peacenik propaganda films, designed to impugn the military and instill in the public the pacifistic self-hatred that makes defeat at the hands of Islamic totalitarians inevitable.

"In the Valley of Elah" will feature American soldiers senselessly murdering each other and the American flag flying upside down in the heartland. In "Grace Is Gone," squishy moonbat John Cusack will play a guy with two daughters struggling with the loss of his wife to war. The hero of "Stop-Loss" is a veteran who defies orders to return to Iraq. Has-been director Brian De Palma's "Redacted" will portray American soldiers persecuting an Iraqi family. A film is being developed about Richard A. Clarke, a former national security official who now devotes himself to biting the Bush Administration's ankles.

After Vietnam, there was no shortage of nauseating "Coming Home" type films stressing the futility of attempting to defend American civilization from those who would destroy it. But nowadays Hollywood is so brazen in expressing its treasonous impulses that it barfs this stuff up even while American troops are still out there getting shot at.

As for patriotic movies that remind us that our troops are heroes fighting for a country that deserves their sacrifices — don't hold your breath waiting for them to come out of Tinseltown.

Where are the likes of Frank Capra and John Ford now that we need them. Hopefully these films will be gathering dust in the bargain bin beore long, having not been widely seen in theaters.

I hope Moonbats invest heavily in these movies - and then have these movies fall flat on their faces and lose money. That'll take otherwise perfectly good money out of their hands. The free market and the ability to vote with your dollars is the most democratic form of expression known to man.

The problem is that the movies will serve their propaganda function regardless of whether or not they make money.

I've said this before, but I'll say it again. I think you give Hollywood too much credit. Hollywood makes more money then ever before, but ticket prices are also higher then ever before. Most Hollywood movies today (I refuse to call them films) are just vehicles to sell toys or hamburgers. You can be sure of one thing: 100X more people will see The Simpsons movie than see In the Valley of Elah.
A while back I met a friend of my father's who had fought in the Phillipines during WWII. I asked him if any of the hundreds of movies about WWII were in any way realistic. The old man (he was 83) thought for a minute and said... "Well there was one.." He started describing Saving Private Ryan, but he couldn't remember the title. "That one was the closest to the truth. The rest are all crap."

You can bet these movies will probably bomb at the box office but just watch how may nominations they get come oscar time, they'll be the darlings of the voters

I wonder how long before fey little douchebag scott thomas beauchamp gets a film deal.

It is kinda amusing they gotta wheel out DePalma... what decade was it he released a watchable film? I'm fairly certain my sixteen year old nephew had yet to be born....

Whether or not they bomb here is not the point: they are sure to do well overseas. Hollywood will no longer make a film that does not appeal to foreign audiences. These "American soldiers are losers and bullies" type films are sure to be a smash in Europe, the Middle East, and just about everywhere else, since America has been the world's bad guy for decades. Why do you think they turned "Truth, justice and the American way" to "truth, justice, and all that stuff" in the recent Superman flick?

Gee, wasnt George SYRIANA Clooney available to start in one of these gems?

I remember in the late sixties and early seventies the movie and TV theme from the neo-commies was "the INSANE Viet Nam vet will bring the war home with him". They'll never change untill reality bites them on the ass.

Kharn, funny you mention the insane Vietname Vet thing. Now Spike TV has a new weekly series called "The Kill Point" about borderline insane Iraq war veterans holding people hostage in a bank.

Anybody here ever watch the SciFi Channel? Literally every "SciFi Original" movie they show is a blatant hatchet job on America, Christianity and capitalism- with especially vicious attention paid to the U.S. military.

Posted by: Toa at July 26, 2007 5:28 PM

I think that's because SciFi Channel is a subset of the entity known as 'Hollywood.' But, I'll give it to you that Battlestar Galactica became unwatchable when they decided to make it into an Iraq allegory.

A small gesture perhaps, but don't give your business to any movie studio or cable station who spout left wing propaganda.

Heh heh- Beef, that doesn't leave us with a whole lot to choose from. It's worth the sacrifice, though.
