Child Rapist Freed For Speaking African Language

Mahamu Kanneh of Liberia attended high school and community college in the USA, yet when he was hauled into court for repeatedly raping a 7-year-old girl, a court-ordered psychiatrist decided that the court needed to provide him with an interpreter so he could follow the proceedings in his obscure native language Vai.

Problem is, they couldn't find one. So the aptly named judge Katherine Savage let the guy go. What the hell, little girls get raped every day, but how often do moonbats get a chance to set a criminal free because he speaks Vai?

PS: WaPo says its reporters found three available Vai translators in just one night. But then, they were probably trying, which gives them an unfair advantage.

On a tip from Pete.

He was released because he wasn't getting a speedy trial. Apparently, they spent three years looking for a translator. But you didn't mention the best part of all -- the guy SPEAKS ENGLISH!

One notes that the national language of Liberia (the perp's country of origin) is English.

Reports have come in that he was a graduate of an AMERICAN high school and had attended and AMERICAN community college.
"He needed and interpreter" my ASS!

Judicial idiocy! Anybody care to recall this moronic judge, who apparently buys any story told to her by a defendant (even if he speaks to her in Vai)?

By the way, I thought she couldn't understand Vai, yet she seemed quite capable in comprehending that the defendant wanted to go free, so she was pleased to oblige.
