Weepy Judge Sues For $54 Million Over Lost Pants
From AP:
WASHINGTON — A judge had to leave the courtroom with tears running down his face Tuesday after recalling the lost pair of trousers that led to his $54 million lawsuit against a dry cleaner.
DC administrative law judge Roy L. Pearson originally wanted $65 million for his lost pants, plus almost $2 million in common law claims. But then he decided not to be so greedy, and is now willing to settle for $54 million.
What really galls Pearson is that the owners of the mom-and-pop laundry he is trying to nuisance-suit out of existence had a sign in the window reading "Satisfaction Guaranteed."
Acting as his own lawyer, Pearson called himself to the stand. While explaining how laundry owner Soo Chung tried to give him the wrong pair of pants, he became so choked up over his misplaced trousers that he had to ask for a break and leave the courtroom.
Clearly a man in such anguish deserves at least $54 million.

On a tip from Dave.

Why, oh why, was this case even allowed? It's good to see our tax dollars being well spent.

And more on the global warming front.
TheHill.com - Both parties plan green conventions
That's right, they're going to buy carbon offsets, a proven scam, a total fraud.
Vote for us, we care! We're throwing money away on a scam! Imagine what we'll do with your tax dollars.
What do you bet that they'll be going back and forth over who was the most environmentally friendly and who bought the most carbon offsets?

To put it in censored verbage: "NEGRO PLEASE!"

Just more proof that the world needs to be put in an asylum to protect it from itself.
$54 million for a pair of pants? What could you get for a jacket?

Let's not lose sight of the fact that this guy is a JUDGE!
Which means this moron sits on a bench and makes decisions about other people's lives, money and freedom.
Who knew the standards for becoming a judge were so low?

Makes one want to curl up in the fetal position and scream "make the voices stop!"

All kidding aside, a man who can burst into tears over a pair of trousers and considers tens of millions of dollars proportionate compensation is someone who needs help. On these facts (and assuming the story fairly represents the situation), the man is unbalanced, and certainly should not be allowed to be a judge.
As a Democratic candidate for office, maybe, but not a judge.
(OK, the last part was a joke, but not the first part.)

It strikes me that the degree of politcal correctness that is now choking the life out of this country has reached a point that we can no longer dismiss a person as being a lunatic....even when the evidence is irrefutable that they indeed are.
How would you like to be trying a case, and find out you have to do it in this wingnut's courtroom?

To give him a break it was his pair of his gold fiber diamond encrusted pants.
That was a joke encase someone didn't catch it.

Waste tax payers monney. How did he become a judge, he should be a jerk .

Glad to see the judges these days are still very reasonable people.

Would this fool have brought such a stupid suit if he were to have to pay the expenses of the plaintiff if and when he lost? He's getting free ride because he is representing himself and forcing the plaintiff to pay for a defense. Rest assured that the plaintiff only offered him $20,000 to settle because his defense was going to be at least that expensive. This is a legal shakedown of these working folks that is entirely sanctioned by our pathetic legal system. Lawyers making laws to enrich lawyers enforced by lawyers that become judges. If we only had a requirement that the loser pays the expenses of the prevailing party this wouldn't happen.
Maybe Edwards (the Breck Girl) will be willing to make that a plank in his platform?!

In Breaking "News", it look like this douche will be on the tail end of some payback.

I think Steve has hit on a good possibility- Left-wing Black hustlers have long been known for their hatred of Asians because of their "unexplainable" ability to come to America and achieve success without riots, raised-fist demand-making demonstrations, or lawsuits resulting in massive hand-outs.
Those who live by preference generally hate those who live by principle. (Edwin Louis Cole)

As you are undoubtedly aware, a $54 million lawsuit was recently brought in DC District Court against a small neighborhood drycleaners over a pair of alleged lost trousers. While the Court found resoundingly in favor of the business owners, Jin and Soo Chung, their ordeal is not yet over—they have drained their saving accounts contesting this frivolous lawsuit, and they have racked up over $100,000 in legal expenses.
In order to help the Chungs defray their legal bills, ILR and the American Tort Reform Association are co-hosting a fundraiser on Tuesday evening, July 24 at 6 p.m. at the US Chamber Building in Washington, DC. Unfortunately, businesses large and small across America must deal every day with similar extortionist tactics from some plaintiffs’ lawyers. The collective outcome is not justice, but lost jobs, ruined businesses and billions of dollars in lost economic opportunity. Additional details, sponsorship opportunities and easy online registration are available at www.chungfundraiser.com.
