Kucinich Does Vegas

Dennis Kucinich's campaign hit Las Vegas the other day. Not many noticed.

Dennis the Menace did manage to raise $1,486, and took the opportunity to tell his 70 or so supporters that humanity is "a light of wholeness going through a prism." He promised to establish a Department of Peace, close Gitmo, and get rid of our nukes.

"I speak to you as a practical politician," said Kucinich, who then went on to brag about his disastrous reign as Mayor of the Mistake by the Lake, during which Cleveland defaulted on its loans.

During Q&A, a supporter announced that he is writing a book in which he refers to the war in Iraq as "white collar murder," then moved on to healthcare, proclaiming, "Let's go ahead and call it socialized medicine."

Kucinich agreed that we should have the kind of dysfunctional socialized healthcare they do in Canada. Then he blamed oil companies and hedge fund managers for gas prices, and advocating holding the President accountable for imaginary war crimes. The Vice President should be impeached, and 9/11 should be reinvestigated so we can find out what made the World Trade Center fall down.

In less than an hour he was off to the airport, takeout tofu at his side.

Dennis Kucinich, practical politician.

On a tip from V the K.

Not many noticed him because they couldn't see His Shortness.

He must have done well in the casino , however, no one would ever mistake him for James Bond.

I am very much aware of Dennis Kucinith and his bid for the Presidency. One of the popular groups I belong to speak of "Principles before personalities. At this point I am apolitical, not locked into who is running for president and joining their bandwagon. However I do listen to what they are talking about. One of the great things about this early period before the grand push by the political hopefuls is they get to put their views out and allow it to be in the minds of folks (and their fellow candidates that may consider them a viable candidates.

Now Kucinith is interesting as he comes through the ranks with his Department of Peace and Nonviolence idea. This is legislation that has been presented before Congress since George Washington in some form or another (Read "Aint Gonna Study War No More" Milton Meltzer-Landmark Books).

Kucinich's musings do have some value & worth, because I feel his faults of the past are fertilizer for his current course of action. He is not the front runner of the race as it stands to date, but there is much truth in some of the things he represents.

He is not very charismatic is very much true, but he will shoot from the hip and aim awkwarding at getting the voters behind him.

However, I am so impressed with him putting the Department of Peace & Nonviolence legislation (H.R. 808) before Congress that I joined "The Peace Alliance" & became an advocate. I will look at the idea of PEACE above the person in question. I will continue to put principles before personalities, because people will fail us, but proven principles will endure.

oh dear G-d.

please, mel - stop trying to use up all the words that mean you're a flaming liberal - we could have picked up on it in the first two sentences.

what you fail to mention and the rest of u.s. can pick up on is just who promotes these zany and lyrical ideas - it is the left - which equates to so little substance.

I think Mel is just cut-and-pasting standard Spam boilerplate.

Mel should hook up with Westerberg and become his "life partner". Of course when the are inserting their "instrument" into each others cheeks it could cause them permanent brain damage.
