Bloomberg Admits He's No Republican

Michael Bloomberg, the lifelong liberal Democrat who switched parties in a political stunt that enabled him to do an end run around leftist kooks like Fernando Ferrer and become Mayor of New York City, has now officially switched his status from RINO to unaffiliated, possibly in preparation for an independent presidential bid.

I'm delighted. With any luck, he will be to the Dems what Ross Perot was to Republicans in 1992. Like Perot, Bloomberg has a massive ego and plenty of cash.

Of course, if I thought there were any chance whatsoever of this nanny state socialist making POTUS, I would be gnawing on my fingernails and whimpering in fear.

Then again, maybe he's the next logical step after Bill Clinton.

Bloomberg only became a Republican when it suited him to do so when he wanted to be NYC's mayor. Now he's shedding that persona because it suits him for the upcoming presidential election. And as you say, he's one of the biggest nanny staters on the block. I also hope that if he runs, he will probably just suck votes out from whomever the Democrat candidate is.

Ironically, it was people like Bloomberg (e.g. John McCain) who drove me out of the Republican party.

So, is anyone in America besides the media establishment clamoring for a tax-hiking, abortion-loving, gun-hating, nanny-state socialist to run for president?

The only reason Im still a Republican is the only other practical alternative is to be a Democrap. While the Republican Party has become somewhat corrupted, the Democraps are 10 times worse. Small parties like Libertarians, Reform (after Ross Perot went nuts), ect are a joke in most parts of the country and will never win national elections.
