Venezuela's Slide Toward Communism Continues
Venezuela's destruction at the hands of socialist goon Hugo Chavez is a textbook illustration of why leftist economics inevitably result in ruin. He is now threatening to nationalize banks, possibly including the assets of foreign banks reckless enough to try to do business in what's left of his country. The steel producer Sidor, majority-controlled by Luxembourg's Ternium SA, has also been threatened with nationalization.
Who is going to invest in Venezuela when investments are subject to confiscation at the whim of a belligerent dictator? Nobody, which is why Chavez's power base of penniless peasants can be expected to grow with each dictatorial decree, as the country tailspins into abject poverty.
Chavez has already begun nationalization of Venezuela's largest telecommunications company and the electricity sector, and has seized control of the country's most valuable oil fields and refineries. After he has expropriated everything of value from its rightful owners, he will squander the wealth on weaponry and propaganda initiatives. Soon the last of it will be gone, and Venezuela will be a wretched totalitarian hellhole like Cuba, where the half-starved populace is held up by Hollyweird zillionaires as an example of how Americans should be forced to live.

Yeah, but to lefties, he's not a dictator because he was "elected."
Cue Carlos Mencia: "Dee Dee Dee."
Meanwhile, Jose Padilla Jury Pool Contaminated with Moonbattery. No wonder the ACLU is so hot to get terrorists into the American Judicial System.

I'm sure our very own Democratics would love to support tHugo's socialist petri dish, they just haven't figured out how to do it without garnering the attention of everybody who loves America.
BTW, I heard a CITGO am radio ad yesterday that said the company donates over $2 million/year to some children's charity. Hum.

Didn't Dhimmi "Peanut" Carter himself certify that election? There you go.
I can't help wondering...
What would Ronnie Reagan have done about Hugo?

Jimbo asks the pertinent question: "will this be u.s. when the time comes?"
Aren't we slithering into socialism already?
Remember this little nugget?

Jimbo asks: "What would Ronnie Reagan have done about Hugo?" Grenada, anyone?

Jimbo, the kid's charity is here in the US. The radio ad had the soft music playing in the background and a soft-voiced announcer...you know the type. I couldn't believe it.

I have seen this kind of socialism 33 years ago in Portugal. We are still paying the "price" of that madness.
Fidel fortune is over USD 500 Mio. How much is Chavez?
