We have been asked to believe that having the AC turned up too high, having to listen Christina Aguilera, underinflated balls in the rec room, etc. qualify as torture because Americans have allegedly inflicted these atrocities to acquire information to protect ourselves from future 9/11s. When no minor inconveniences can be found to blow out of proportion, the media is happy to propagate lies and pass them off as psychological torture, as when Newsweek set off riots by announcing that Club Gitmo attendants were flushing Korans down toilets.
Formerly responsible human rights organizations like Shamnesty International pretend that Americans are at the forefront when it comes to human rights violations. We even have prominent Democrat Senator Dick Durbin comparing our troops to the thugs of Stalin, Hitler, and Pol Pot.
Pretty soon we're going to forget what the word "torture" actually means. Unfortunately, the same al-Qaeda on whose behalf our media and liberal politicians relentlessly propagandize is still there to remind us.
The Smoking Gun has gotten hold of some drawings recovered from an al-Qaeda safe house in Iraq, depicting their own alternatives to playing Christina Aguilera. Those American troops who so remind Senator Durbin of communists and Nazis also seized torture implements including electric drills, whips, wire cutters, pliers, handcuffs, etc. At one al-Qaeda torture chamber, which very possibly did not even have a rec room so the victims could unwind, Coalition forces found some poor guy hanging from the ceiling by a chain.
Here are a couple of the drawings:
Some of the recovered torture implements:
A guy Michael Moore's "Minutemen" kidnapped and tortured:
Kind of places some rogue low-level Army reservist putting a pair of panties on a terrorist's head into perspective, doesn't it?
It also helps reminds us of the nature of the enemy to whom Democrats insist we abandon democratic Iraq — an enemy that only a fool wouldn't realize will follow us home.
On a tip from Nanc.

from what i understand, they're already here just awaiting a word...of course, the left is exempt - right?

Where are these "rights" organizations and the media who decried Gitmo when Pfc. Joseph Anzack, Jr. is found in the water with whip marks on his back and shot in the head? I don't recall anyone from Club Gitmo ending up that way. Thank you and Godspeed, Pfc Anzack, and may God bless your family, for the sacrifice you gave for this country.

The left has dumbed down the definition of torture until the word only means "any discomfort of any degree or duration experience by a terrorist while in U.S. custody."

No, only people who actually signed the Geneva Convention can be accused of torture....

On a serious note, I really don't think the liberal media, the liberal "human rights organizations", or the leaders of the democratic party are concerned with human rights violations at all.
The state of the world has been reduced to political parlaying about religious ideologies for the purpose of gaining and maintaining power.
You have the Islamic extremists, who are concerned with riligious ideology; you have liberal elitists around the world who do NOT care about religious causes, but are very interested in the repercussions of demonizing and demoralizing anything associated with America or democracy; and then you have the democratic population at large, who, when told of this sort of torture, refuse to form an opinion until they know how it affects their political party...which could mean that instead of being horrified, they will either justify it, ignore it, play it down in comparison to the horrors of Gitmo, or simply claim it's not true.

In other words, if it fits your agenda, use it. If not, sweep it under the rug.
I'm sure the guys we see in these photos will understand.

"The war in Iraq has made us less safe from the terrorist threat that doesn't exist. Fighting wars in Islamic countries creates terrorists among those we shouldn't profile at the airport. 9/11 was an act committed by Jews to protest our support of Israel."
Torture is trying to find a coherent thought in a leftist mind.

Kind if reminds me of (among myriad other examples)years ago, when "Unibomber" Ted Kaczynski was apprehended. As soon as it was disclosed that he was a "Liberal" Environmentalist, the media immediately changed their treatment of him from "Boy, they caught that dirty so-and-so" to "He was trying to make some points that we should consider." As you folks have stated, as far as "Liberals" are concerned, it's not what is done, but who is doing it.
I'd be very surprised- shocked, actually- if the above story sees any daylight over the "mainstream news" wires.

You guys are brainwashed into slandering our freedom fighters. Ted Kennedy is coming up with some amnesty legislation to ensure that Al Qaeda officials can obtain California drivers licenses regardless of their race.
Stop this racist war against peaceful terrorists!

Nothing new there. Islamists are the new Nazi's, and anybody who would throw live children into a stove is working for satan

As Mr. Beamish mentioned, these photos will never appear in the msm, who are too busy denigrating America to inform the public as to the nature of the enemy we face.

The left has dumbfounded the definition..

Nanc how can I calm myself when the Iraq War is causing global warming?
Bring home our carbon units now!

Okay, I can't find this story on CNN. Did I miss something?
So the answer to how the Democrat population at large reacts to this is...they don't. They never hear about it.
Posted by: NudeGayWhalesForJesus at May 25, 2007 2:16 PM
N.G.W.F.J.: if they did hear about it, most of them would simply sniff at it in the same way they sniff at anything about the War which doesn't fit into their world of Hate-The-Right dementia...
