Patrick Moore, the Sane Greenpeacenik
Alicia Colon has made a remarkable discovery: Patrick Moore, a cofounder of Greenpeace who was president of Greenpeace Canada for nine years and director of Greenpeace International for seven, is utterly sane. Needless to say, he is no longer affiliated with Greenpeace.
Moore's idea of an alternative to burning fossil fuels is not ethanol, windmills, or pixie dust, but something that actually works: nuclear power. Not that he sees anything wrong with drilling in ANWR. Like most reasonable people, he acknowledges that we might be seeing a warming trend, but doubts people are the principle cause. Moore chastises envirokooks for having "abandoned science in favor of sensationalism." He is especially annoyed by Greenpeace's jihad against biotechnology, which he feels "exposes their intellectual and moral bankruptcy," because of the vast suffering genetically modified plants might alleviate.
Moore is the only Greenpeace International director with a scientific background. They won't make that mistake again.

On a tip from Byron.

He was on one of the Penn and Teller Showtime specials...I think the one about recycling, but I can't remember for sure. I would think he must be pretty upset that the group he helped found has become such a magnet for crazies who want to impose their beliefs on everyone else.

My, oh my! What are the Green Moonbats to do? Scream louder, act even more hysterical? Pretty soon, their only choice will be to start in with jihad killings of all who disagree with their imaginary planet-wide catastrophe -- since they don't particulary give a damn about human beings, that should be no problem at all.
