MSNBC Reports on Falwell's Passing
Thank you MSNBC, for setting a new standard for journalism, lowering the bar so that amateurs never need to feel outclassed. Today an MSNBC reporter marked the passing of Jerry Falwell by only slightly misquoting this line from the website Whitehouse.org,:
Dr. Falwell has earned his role as the defacto [sic] Executive Director of Domestic and Global Policy for the Republican party.
She did mention that the site isn't the official White House website. What she didn't mention is that Whitehouse.org is a parody site devoted to trashing all things conservative with maximum viciousness and sarcasm.
Another quote MSNBC might have taken from the same page is attributed to Falwell himself:
I would ask that loving Christians everywhere join my brother Pat Robertson and me in praying earnestly for the bestowal of rare, debilitating and excruciatingly painful cancers upon Justices John Paul Stevens and that unsightly carpet-munching Christ-killer Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
This is MSNBC's idea of an information source? Imagine if Fox News started quoting ScrappleFace. The entire MSM would die laughing.
To his credit, even Tweety was skeptical: check out the video at Hot Air.

Hat tip: LGF, on a tip from Steve.
