More Gun Violence in Gun-Free Japan

If it weren't for the Second Amendment, bureaucrats could just ban handguns altogether, like in Japan, where a former gangster named Hisato Obayashi surrendered on Friday after gunning down four people in shooting rampage.

As Cho Seung-Hui showed us, among a disarmed populace, the guy who doesn't give a hoot what the law says about guns is king.

In case anyone thought bureaucrats were capable of learning, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yasuhisa Shiozaki used the Obayashi incident to call for stepping up Japan's already Draconian gun control measures. Bizarrely, the media is blaming the recent spate of gun violence in Japan on a 1990s anti-gang campaign.
