John Edwards Charges Students $55,000 to Hear His Class Warfare Rhetoric
John "Two Americas" Edwards sure knows how to rake in the cash. He bought his way into the Senate with loot he stole from doctors as a trial lawyer. Now he's found an even easier means to vacuum up money: outrageously inflated speaking fees. He even charged UC Davis students $55,000 for a speech in which he told them that "every financial barrier" to getting an education should be removed.
Fortunately UC Davis is taxpayer-funded, so the 1,787 students on hand didn't have to pick up the entire tab, which would come to $31 per student. Bad enough they are getting hit with a 7% tuition increase, part of which will go to things like overpaying rich politicians to come and give speeches.
The Breck Girl's topic was "Poverty, the great moral issue facing America." He made $285,000 speaking on campuses last year, so this issue has been resolved as far as Edwards himself is concerned.
You can't blame him for charging so much. Think of the energy bills he needs to pay at his "carbon-neutral" 28,000-square-foot mansion. Plus there are those $400 haircuts.
Here's a solution to our great moral issue. Why don't we pay everyone $55,000 a pop to spew a little hypocritical class warfare rubbish? Then we'd all be rich. The only downside is there would be only one America, with no grubby peasants for Silky Pony to dupe into voting for him.

John Edwards has passed the point of deserving criticism for being a blatant hypocrite.
He gives hypocrites a bad name.
Every time I see or hear things like this, I am glad I have finally come to accept him as a cartoon character and give him a big belly laugh.
He was much better at chasing ambulances and convincing "fools" on juries that he had a supernatural link to the unfortunate child and also the vault of the insurance company.
Piss ants like this should be held in very low esteem.
