Is CBS Planning to Imus Lou Dobbs?
AIM notes that a recent 60 Minutes hit piece on Lou Dobbs was particularly ominous for its inclusion of Mark Potok, who denounced Dobbs from the point of view of someone "who monitors hate groups for the Southern Poverty Law Center."
Although he works primarily for CNN, Dobbs holds some conservative views; most notably, he believes our southern border should be defended from foreign invasion. The Southern Poverty Law Center is a hard-core leftist outfit that lists the Christian Traditional Values Coalition as a hate group along with the KKK and the Nation of Islam on the grounds that it doesn't favor special legal privileges for homosexuals.
Dobbs was just hired to do television commentary by the same CBS that produces 60 Minutes, and that recently fired Don Imus from his radio show for uttering the unconscionable phrase "nappy-headed hos" — despite it having been his highly paid job for years to talk that kind of trash. Potok's ominous presence on 60 Minutes suggests that opposition to unrestrained illegal immigration is being set up as a comparable example of "racism."
We've already heard from the exceedingly powerful Congressman Charlie Rangel (D-NY) that it's racist to want your taxes lowered. What else will become racist in the coming years?
Meanwhile, creatures like Dennis Kucinich wring their oily hands with glee at the thought of Dems taking the White House, which would allow them to push through the absurdly named "Fairness Doctrine" — aka the "Hush Rush" law, because its first use will be to silence Rush Limbaugh. The other day the House passed a "hate crimes" bill that, as AIM puts it, "attempts to criminalize what people think and say, rather than what they do" and "helps lay the groundwork for a federal Fairness Doctrine to authorize bureaucrats to dictate what can and cannot be said on the air."
The primary threat to our basic liberties comes not from abroad, but from the suppurating infection that manifests itself as the mainstream media and the Democrat Party — i.e., the gangrenous ulcer known as moonbattery.

The scumbags at the SPLC actually managed to force a rancher to turn over his ranch to illegals because he "illegally detained" them when they were trespassing on his land.

Not to mention Leslie Stahl's indignation during the piece that Dobbs actually admitted something about his personal political leanings. I'm glad he did that...I prefer honesty from journalists. It's the sanctimonious bullsh*t from people like Stahl and others who say they are unbiased, yet the bias is simply oozing from their pores. Talk show hosts are upfront about their views. If journalists were, we wouldn't complain so much because we'd know up front what to expect...

Wasn't Imus fired because the sponsor's left town? I don't think they fired Imus because he spouted racist words. They knew Imus and hired him in spite of or because of his language and strong stances...because he attracted an audience and brought in money (sponsors). No sponsors, no money, no Imus. Too much bad publicity did him in. It doesn't seem that Lou Dobbs fits in Imus' shoes, given this perspective. Your thoughts?
