Greenies Demand 20 MPH Speed Limit
Remember the national 55 MPH speed limit that was supposed to save gas but actually served mainly to increase traffic ticket revenues? That was nothing. Environazis are in the driver's seat now, and they plan to run right over us. The London Assembly Green Party is now demanding 20 MPH speed limits.
London Mayor Red Ken Livingstone backs the idea of making the snail's pace 20 MPH the default speed limit throughout London. It would be enforced with new speed cameras. Don't forget drivers, Big Brother is watching you!

Bullcrap. Lower speed limits mean longer trips, i.e., more time with the engine running, more fuel consumption, more pollution, more of the dreaded carbon dioxide! The most efficient speed for cars is, what, around 50 mph?
The safety argument makes sense, but at what cost?
Oh, and how exactly does driving more slowly reduce bureaucracy?
