Ecoterrorist Chelsea Gerlach Could Get 10 Years
The insidious ideology known as environmentalism attacks civilization from many directions. Jet-set Tinseltown royalty assails us with panicked lies from on high, while bureauweenies hem us in with senseless regulations from all sides. From below, rising up like rotting corpses in a zombie movie, tearing viciously at all that is sane and constructive with filthy clawlike hands, come environmental activists like Chelsea Gerlach, whom prosecutors would like to put away for a modest 10 years.
Gerlach and fellow friend of the Earth William Rodgers were part of an environmentalist sect known as The Family (à la Charles Manson) that conspired to burn down a Vail ski resort for the sake of the animals. Eight structures were destroyed in what stood for five years as America's costliest case of ecovandalism.
Rodgers did the dirty work while Gerlach served in a supporting role, driving him around and writing up a communiqué claiming responsibility for the deed in the name of Earth Liberation Front and Animal Liberation Front. Rodgers later committed suicide in an Arizona jail, either because he wanted to take the rare step of actually living up to antihuman environmentalist rhetoric, or because like most left-wing activists he was a psychological basket case.
The longer demagogues in the MSM, Hollyweird, and the government fan the flames of environmental hysteria, the more home-grown terrorists like Gerlach and Rodgers we are likely to see.

I'm waiting for the "free Chelsea" movement, like the "free Mumia" crowd. After all, it's just "rich folks" in Vail who were inconvenienced, right? Power to the people!

I think we can safely assume young Rodgers didn't join the eco-nuts for the chicks.
Or if he did, he got hosed. Big time.

Not so fast, Jay. Chelsea's either an ugly chick, or an effete dude that needs NutriSystem, stat. Rodgers could've rolled like that, you know.
