Ecokooks Impose Dirty Underwear
Is there nothing so distasteful moonbat bureaucrats won't impose it on us in the name of environmentalist ideology? The supposedly water-saving toilets mandated by Congress that won't flush properly were bad enough. Now we have $800 washers that leave your clothes dirty.
The WSJ quotes Consumer Reports:
Not so long ago you could count on most washers to get your clothes clean. Not anymore… Some [washers tested] left our stain-soaked swatches nearly as dirty as they were before washing.
This is because a dictate from the last days of Clinton Administration that called for washers to use 35% less energy by 2007. Bureauweenies are fond of the accolades they receive from the environmentalist Left for declaring that energy use most be lowered by arbitrary percentages. But we all have to pay the price. As the WSJ puts it:
Don't expect apologies from Congress or the green activists who promoted these mandates. We are living in one of those eras where all Americans are supposed to bow before the gods of energy conservation, even if it means walking around with dirty underwear.
As with the "water-saving" toilets that actually use more water because now you have to flush twice to get everything down, the new politically correct washing machines will really use more energy, because people will have to run their clothes through them multiple times to get anything clean.
But actual energy efficiency isn't the issue. What matters is that politicians use environmentalist posturing to increase their control, and that we all be forced to make obeisance to the green gods of political correctness.

On a tip from Varla.

I have to use allergy free detergent and it worked great until my old washer died. So I got a new frontload washer, only to discover it doesn't remove all the soap residue so I snored and got headaches again. I figured it out eventually, turns out I have to use a liquid version and only about a tablespoon with extra rinses to get rid of my snoring again. Since it's such a hassel, I only do the extra steps for towels and bedding. I WILL NEVER EVER OWN ANOTHER FRONT LOADING ENERGY EFFICIENT WASHER AGAIN EVEN IF THEY PAID ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why is it that the liberal means of conserving energy always looks like a browned out version of 'Soylent Green'.Between toilets that won't flush, washing machines that won't wash, and cars that struggle to make it up a moderate grade, these liberal 'upgrades' are more of a penance than anything else.

EWW that last pic made me want to barf.
Maybe instead of calling them the "greens" we should start calling them the "browns"?
YUCK ... Now I gotta go brush my teeth.

Eco-bots won't be content untill we're whacking our undershorts on a stone down 't the creek with the other mud hut dwellers in our feudal colony.
Heaven forbid one of the surfs has hidden a few rolls of the old order bum-wad and built hisself a indoor crapper and laundry room...the colony sustainablity police will be summoned to do a de-plumbing exorcism.
The colony must be kept pure...no one allowed to be cleaner than anyone else.

Bush 43 had a chance to repeal the Clinton Era washing machine standards, but he didn't because he wanted to "change the tone" and make peace with the environmental left.
Fat lot of good it did him.

"Bush 43 had a chance to repeal the Clinton Era washing machine standards, but he didn't because he wanted to "change the tone" and make peace with the environmental left.

And that sums up my beef with Bush 43 (and 41 for that matter) - constantly going wobbly (Lady Thatcher's phrase) in the face of Demonrat opposition.
