Breck Girl Panders to 9/11 Conspiracy Theorists
The psychosis driving the Democrat Party is getting ever closer to the surface. You might have heard from barking moonbats like Rosie O'Donnell and Charlie Sheen that 9/11 was actually an American plot. Even those progressives open-minded enough to admit that Muslim terrorists flew planes into the twin towers enjoy believing that Building 7 was brought down by our own government as part of some nefarious conspiracy.
Here's the presidential candidate John Edwards responding to this absurd notion:
Imagine if someone told us in October 2001 that we would soon face the prospect of a President who politely promises to investigate the notion that America blew up the World Trade Center. Yet it did get the Breck Girl some hearty applause — and a horrible sinking feeling tells me the Dems haven't hit bottom yet.

I love how he looks so "confused" at what the truther is asking... to me it looks more like a faux-confusion than anything. It looks like after the second time the truther asked the question, Breck Girl knew what was going on, but played dumb as he tried to figure out what to say... listen to how the crowd helps him out and how he plays off of that.
Am I reading into this too much?

Moonbattery from the El Paso Times aims to create a nice-guy image of the drug smuggler in the middle of the Ramos and Compean case.

After the 9/11 Revisionists rewrite history about those attacks they will move on to rewrite the history of the holocaust.
Breck Girl will soon be promising to "investigate" accusations that the Jews made up the holocaust...

How did so many people go insane? And is there a connection with drug abuse becoming common since the sixties?

I'm not sure if you've already blogged about this, but did you see the poll showing that a full 35% of Dems think Bush knew about 9/11 in advance? It's crazy, but a lot of people might be open to the conspiracy theories...if they don't already believe them. (Rush Limbaugh talked about that poll recently.)
I mean, if he knew about them in advance, he must be at least partly responsible for failing to stop them, right? Maybe they just want to express the fact that they hate Bush, not a real belief that he was behind 9/11...or maybe they really are nuts.

I had to watch it a few times. I initially gave him the benefit of the doubt, and I would still if he SHARPLY critized these 9-11 nutjobs.
O'democracy, he needs all the votes he can.

I don't think Edwards was "playing" dumb. I don't like the guy. I think he's a disingenuous s.o.b., but I don't think he was faking in this case.
It just goes to show that the moonbats think this kind of stuff is "so mainstream" when in reality it is only mainstream amongst moonbats.
As to the question of WTC 7 falling, the moonbat believers always like to cite video tape taken from a particular angle of the building where the building looked largely intact. For anyone who wants to look, there is other video tape showing the oposite side of #7 when one of the towers collaped. There is literally a torrent of concrete and steel that swept into the base of #7 like a speeding freight train.
The moonbats like to say "the fire didn't burn long enough to collaspe #7" and that's true enough, but they conveniently leave out the damage that the tower debris created, because.....well....because it conflicts with their religion.
