Ahnold's Dilemma: Energy or Moonbattery?
California's Governator faces a difficult decision. What's more important, meeting our energy needs, or pandering to the spoilt whims of the entertainment industry zillionaires infesting Malibu?
The Australian resources company BHP Billiton would like to do something far more useful than starring in lousy movies by building an $800 million floating liquefied natural gas terminal off the coast of Malibu. Gas would be shipped to the terminal from fields off the coast of Australia, then piped to the California mainland.
Malibu moonbats Martin Sheen, Tom Hanks, Pierce Brosnan, et al. demand that the project be stopped on the grounds that it will be ugly (it would be 14 miles from the shore), that terrorists might blow it up (as if you could build anything they wouldn't blow up, including mosques), and that it will supposedly cause global warming (like all other human endeavors).
Schwarzenegger can either approve the project or sink it. Given his irresponsible willingness to play along with the global warming hoax, it's hard to be confident he will decide wisely. But that's okay, Californians can just heat and cool their homes with the same pixie dust Tinseltown glitterpigs use to power their private jets.

On a tip from Byron.

Well, after all they do own the Pacific Ocean. Don't they?
"Although Hollywood stars are famously vocal about egalitarianism and environmental activism, the big stars are curiously silent about Access for All’s efforts to open up the public beaches in Malibu. In fact, in a town home to the likes of Barbra Streisand, Robert Redford, Ryan O’Neal, Tom Hanks, Dustin Hoffman, and Pierce Brosnan, the stars have been downright hostile to the liberal goals of the environmental group."

Hey, man, that Malibu Barbie's hot! Oh wait. That's wrong. Sorry, my bad. She's an effective neutral-gendered spokesperson for a good cause who deserves our respect and tolerance. There. That's better. Can I have my gas now?

I'd make a point of putting the terminal oh, say, about 100 yards offshore at Malibu, just to piss these clowns off.

OT: Jesse Macbeth, "war hero speaking his conscience" a la Kerry, is about to be rung up by the Feds for fraud.
