Turkey Blocks Insulting Websites
Turkey offers a clue where the totalitarian moonbattery that resulted in the lynching of Don Imus might lead with regards to the Internet. Websites deemed by bureaucrats to be insulting to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of modern Turkey, will be blocked.
It is a crime over there to insult "Turkishness." Similarly, it is effectively a crime over here to insult homosexuality or African-Americanishness.
The dark gods of political correctness aren't going to be appeased by throwing Don Imus into the volcano. The more we feed them, the hungrier they get. It won't be long before sites like this one start getting disappeared for being "insulting."

On a tip from Wiggins.

Indefensible as it is, I suspect part of the reason they're so uppity about insulting Ataturk is because he founded modern Turkey to be a secular democracy. Well, after a fashion... it quickly turned in to a pseudo-secular islamic democratic theocracy, but his heart was in the right place.
The thing that escapes people like this is that the outright banning of contrary opinion always makes that contrary opinion that much more subversive and attractive. But then it would be hard to credit any bureacrat with any sort of intelligence...

Slightly off topic.
Pravda has it all figured out, why Imus was fired. It wasn't CBS who fired him, it was our "War Leaders", and it wasn't for comments he made about basketball players, it was to suppress him because he was a dissident with secret info in 9/11!!
"In a clear sign of its intent to reign in dissident American media personalities, and their growing influence in American culture, US War Leaders this past week launched an unprecedented attack upon one of their most politically 'connected', and legendary, radio hosts named Don Imus after his threats to release information relating to the September 11, 2001 attacks upon that country."

Anyone who thinks saner heads now prevail in Russia, think again.

It is ironic that the Turks would adopt this drastic measure to "protect" Mustafa Kemal (Ataturk), an educated, westernized man who likely would have objected to such censure.
But then again, how many westernized muslims are there? This guy was a blue-eyed muslim who was too bright and civilized to have fallen under the doctrine and rule of islamic terrorists either.

Kemal Ataturk, were he to come along today, would be "Anwar el-Sadat"-ed forthwith by the Islamo-freakoids, instanter. His life would be forfeit the first time he opened his mouth.
