Parking Is Wrong
By now we're all aware that driving our cars is a sin against Gaia. But now moonbats want us to feel guilty even about parking them. Steven Landsburg complains on Slate:
It's crazy to feel guilty about dirtying the atmosphere without feeling even guiltier about clogging city streets. […]
Even if you never drive into the city, you're (at least indirectly) still part of the problem. Suburban shopping malls almost everywhere are required to have vastly oversized parking lots that are never close to full. You might not realize this because you tend to search for spots in the close-in areas that are full. But the outlying areas sit idle, precluding the use of that land for anything of social value.
Landsburg offers a typical liberal solution to the evil known as parking: make it less available and force people to pay more for it. That way we peasants would be forced to ride buses, while liberal elite environmentalists fly overhead in their jets.

On a tip from MoleOnABull.

Obviously this is all about Liberals wanting to legislate at the whim of their own desired comfort/convenience, and rake in money at the same time. Just like all the stupidity over "second-hand smoke"...ritzy Liberals, fed up with getting smoke blown in their faces by yacht salesmen and Mercedes mechanics, pass legislation based on hastily invented "evidence" to teach those peasants a lesson, and bring in big bucks for them and their lawyer buddies.
